Quote:He warned that the creeping expansion of applications being suggested by ministers for digital ID could have ‘sinister implications’ for civil liberties.
Item: There is no such thing as "civil liberties", no more than there is any such thing as "civil rights". "Civil liberties" are not liberty, nor are "civil rights" rights. Both are mere permission slips from the government, the "civitas". As such, the government will tell you how, when, where, and why to exercise such governmentally-issued nuisances. Likewise, as government issued nuisances, they are subject to revocation by the issuing agency - your government. Therefore, as being subject to revocation, they can be neither liberties nor rights.
I claim NO "civil liberties" nor any "civil rights". matter of fact, I piss all over both my "civil liberties" AND my "civil rights" every single morning, before breakfast. They are as useless as tits on a boar hog, and I'll have nothing to do with them beyond pissing all over them.
Item: the UK "digital ID" scam is one of the strongest arguments I can think of for manufacturing your own alcohol, tobacco, and firearms / firearms ammunition. Why bother dragging along a cumbersome phone to prove your ID at the pub when you can just slip down to the old still and knock back a pint, or a quart, of something stronger anyhow?
Item:Herr Fuhrer Komrade Starmer's comment about using digital ID to "access your own money"... I access MY own money by sticking my hand in my pocket and listening for the crinkle or the jingle. I don't need no stinkin' phone to do that, so he can just go piss up a rope.
Item: According to the article, you'll eventually need one to pay taxes. That's good news - just don't get one, and you'll never have to pay taxes again!
Seriously, folks - if you don't already have at least one foot in the Black Market, you'd best be getting one there soonest!
