We figured out right away that the old drug slang was now the current language, so we were buying "fire" wood. A cord was an ounce, a half-cord was half an ounce, etc., and a few pieces of firewood were a few "joints" or a gram. It was brown wood (commercial) or green wood (Hawaiian or hydro), and I don't remember what we called the harder stuff or the amount we were interested in.
