As to the rest:
That is certainly one (legitimate) way of seeing it.
I would hope that there are bean counters involved
in the decisions to go ahead with (allow) this mess,
and, even if wrong, and the negatives outweigh the positives,
we will not have given our enemies (we have them) an upper hand
in developing (and using) the same (against us).
In the hands of Meta, or Oracle, or Nvidia...I do not feel safe.
In the hands of the government, I do not feel safe.
But, how are you/we going to stop them?
And, what alternative solution/s is/are available?
Wipe out everyone-else's data centers, too?
Go to the U.N. and demand a treaty against the development of AI?
