Batman was created by artist Bob Kane and writer Bill Finger, and debuted in the 27th issue of the comic book Detective Comics on March 30, 1939. Every year on the third Saturday in September, Batman is celebrated.

Sept 20, 1946: Henry A. Wallace confidential letter (dated Jul 23, 1946) to president Truman on the burden of Atomic Warfare & warning that an aggressive "get-tough" stance would lead to a disastrous arms race and potential war with the USSR, is leaked to the press. Shortly after, Truman demanded & received Wallace's resignation on Sept 20, 1946.

Sept 20, 1946: The first Cannes Film Festival, set in the resort city of Cannes on the French Rivera, began on this day and ended Oct 5th. The festival was originally intended to debut on September 1, 1939, but it was cancelled after Hitler invaded Poland, starting World War II.




There were over 2000 American films that were banned during the German Occupation, and after the Blum–Byrnes agreement American films were able to quickly flood the French cinemas. In the first half of 1947, 340 American films were shown compared to 40 French ones. Welcome to America, Frenchy!

The agreement erased the 2.8 billion dollars France owed the U.S., chiefly from World War I loans and loans in 1939–40. The U.S. loaned France $650 million at low interest through the Export-Import Bank. The loan was followed in 1948 by a free grant of $2.3 billion from the Marshall Plan, with no repayment. In exchange, French cinemas would replace the numerical quota with a "screen quota". This meant that French cinemas were required to show French-made films for four weeks out of every thirteen and leave the other nine weeks of every quarter open to free competition, namely from American films.

Then there is the Seven Mountain Mandate or Seven Mountains Dominionism, a dominionist conservative Christian ideology. The leadership members are known to use strategic spiritual warfare tactics, prophecy, and intercession for influence operations. Followers believe that by fulfilling the Seven Mountain Mandate, they can establish the kingdom of God on earth and bring about the end times. In 2020, Charlie Kirk said, "finally we have a president that understands the seven mountains of cultural influence" during a speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference. I don't know much about them and could careless what they believe, but when mixed with politics the end times could be nigh.

Sept 20, 1947: Wallace Accuses FBI of conducting a Hitler-like "campaign of terror" against liberal Gov employees. FBI refused immediate comment.

After the pilot episode aired April 1978, and filmed mostly in and around Las Vegas, NV, the TV show "Vega$" starring Robert Urich premiered on Sept 20, 1978 titled CENTERFOLD (on Wednesday, right after Charlie's Angels on ABC). The series lasted three years.




Sept 20, 2006: JERICHO premiered on CBS. This series started out as a good show with high expectations, especially for that time era with Bush crusade on terrorists, it got alot of people spooked, but like so many other shows the screenwriting went into the dumpster.




Sept 20, 2014: The historic Mercantile Building in the ghost town of Rhyolite, NV was struck by lightning on and was completely lost to the subsequent fire.  The Beatty Volunteer Fire Department was not yet on scene. “By the time we got there, the rain had put that fire out,” said Fire Chief Mike Harmon.
