Things most people don't see (much less experience) the US Navy doing and doing very well. As a junior sailor I did this more times than I can count. During calm seas this is a boring uneventful operation. The most exciting time is Mail Call and pray the helo doesn't drop the bag into the drink. During rough seas with the occasional rogue waves is a whole other story.

Venezuela is 50% larger than Ukraine: 353,841 sq mi (~900,000 km²) with an estimated 29 million people.

Granted bread basket versus a whole lotta jungle and Venezula has the world's largest oil reserves though it's not sweet crude like in the Middle East & Russia. Back in the 20th century we (USA) were best friends with Venezuela. Today, it's back to gunboat diplomacy to bleed the country dry economically & force Maduro to kneel.
