The Arcane Texas Fact of the Day:
Iraan, Texas is the second-largest town in the second-largest county in the second-largest state in the second-largest country in North America. How's THAT for arcane? Its population was 1,055 at the 2020 census. The city's name is a tribute to the town's founders, Ira and Ann Yates, who were owners of the ranch land upon which the town was built.

August 21, 1959: Hawaii Enters as State. President Dwight D. Eisenhower officially proclaimed Hawaii the 50th state of the Union. This photo was taken just after he signed the proclamation.

Souvenir from brunch at the Scientology Celebrity Centre in Hollywood 15 years ago. After brunch, we wandered around the lobby and there were a bunch of these blank billion year Sea Org contracts sitting on a table. Insane in the membrane.
