I have been doing OK with my gold prospecting, from a learning and experience point of view. I'm ready to go to the next phase by outfitting with some small-scale portable equipment.
Right now, I can tease gold flakes out of the local river sand, but with the knowledge and skills I've acquired, I'm ready to go scout for some pay streaks.
I do want to get the equipment to process the fine dust out so that if I get skunked, I can still squeeze some flour gold out. I also want to build a rocker-box and improve on the prospecting camp here on my own property along the creek. I will also be improving the homemade sluice as I go along.
It can be a lot of hard work with a very small return, but as a recreational pursuit, gold prospecting has other rewards, plus gold never seems to go down in price, win-win IMO.
