January is always a bastard-of-a-month for news outlets, most of their non-time-sensitive
good-news articles have already been used as filler during the Christmas period and the
subsequent vacation time afterwards.
This morning, I awoke to a discussion on one of the few news channels my old TV could
acquire that 'stated' -and I use that word loosely, that bird-song is good for improving one's
mental health. Yes... I know, a startling discovery!
But it being 21st January of 2023, I thought I'd take a look at this study and what caught my
eye wasn't that some 'new' informative knowledge had emerged from those darling folks we
deem 'scientists', it was the date that they announce such findings.
The expression 'slow news day' just isn't cutting it!
