May 10, 1918: Dr. Thomas Berry Brazelton, American child development pediatrician, author, TV host (What Every Baby Knows), who developed the Neonatal Behavioral Assessment Scale (NBAS), was born in Waco, Texas. He wrote more than two hundred scholarly papers and twenty-four books. He died on March 13, 2018, at the age of 99.

May 10, 1979: "In the Navy" by the Village People entered the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100. The video was filmed on board the frigate USS Reasoner (FF-1063) in San Diego as part of a recruiting promotion. The Navy ultimately decided not to use the video in the official campaign. The frigate was leased to Turkey in 1993 and later sold to Turkey on February 22, 2002.

May 10, 1993: Paul Cézanne's painting "Still Life With Apples" (1893–1894) sells for $28,600,000 in NYC. During the last thirty years of his life, Paul Cézanne painted the same objects - the green vase, the rum bottle, the ginger pot, and the apples--over and over again. His interest was not in the objects themselves but in using them to experiment with shape, color, and lighting. He arranged his still lifes so that everything locked together.

May 10, 2023: Jack Rebney died at the age of 93, the '80s RV salesman whose hilarious, profanity-strewn, on-the-job meltdown was a forerunner of the viral video and became the subject of the documentary WINNEBAGO MAN.

Hailed as a Hero of Russia, he is known for his red backpack, a propaganda symbol. Ukrainian sources accuse him of war crimes due to civilian casualties in Mariupol. After losing a leg in combat, he now teaches as a senior lecturer in the military and political department at his alma mater, Ryazan Higher Airborne Command School and develops a pro-Russian video game. His legacy is polarizing and reflects the divided views on the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
