Doppelgangers

Does anyone else have any ideas as to why this sort of thing happens? I'm stumped.

Hello Ninurta, I think there are several possible explanations for doppelgangers:



1. a spirit impersonating a person, the most common phenomena, usually accompanied by an instinctive feeling of dread. Probably one of the best examples I've ever come across: https://old.reddit.com/r/Ghoststories/co...iends_ive/

2. astral double/avatar/mirror image of a person, often seen by clairvoyants while they're in various states or conditions of sleep (not trance).

3. second sight, portentious sign, like the images seen by elderly persons, which includes "harbinger of death". In Cheiro's True Ghost Stories, he describes how the three knocks phenomenon is real, what kind of signs people might see when it is time for their death.

4. bilocation. My clair friend Kate drew this picture of how people can end up in different spaces/spheres of existence/realities (not planes).
It may be that sometimes some shadow people sightings are really people from alternate realities, who we are unable to fully perceive.





It's worth noting how reported doppelgangers are often mistaken by observers as time travelers, sometimes they appear as they would look if/when they were older.
