First off - My thanks to @"Rodinus"#19 for posting this thread.
I had found out about cody's passing quite a while back, but had actually forgotten in my auld dotage, that he and cody (Tony) had met up in RL and were good pals, my sincere apologies for forgetting that.
I first encountered Tony on ATS, participating in and around the various threads, and we became firmer pals in the series of "The Shed" threads there.
I remember him as being direct, cheeky, good-humoured and quick-witted.
We had similar interests in Music, Motorbikes and Good Food, and conversation was never a problem in Tony's company.
In 2014, our merry band of "Shedders" decided that it would be nice to meet up somewhere, to give ourselves a chance to cement our online friendships, and I volunteered to host the Gathering at my holiday flat on The Isle of Cumbrae, just off the west central coast of Scotland.
I think that Tony was the first "volunteer" to throw his hat in the ring to join us, along with his long-term partner Meg, and the whole Gathering event was memorialised in a thread on ATS (LINK below).
The Shed - The Gathering Thread at ATS
Needless to say, we all got on like a house on fire and a great time was had by all.
This picture was taken at the moment when I first met him in person at Glasgow Airport:
Tony presented me with an unlit candle during his visit, which he wrapped carefully for me. He said to keep it safe and that it would symbolise our friendship forever until such times as we find ourselves in now...
I'll admit, we had drifted apart a little bit latterly... neither of us participated much in the Shed Threads anymore, and I am completely rubbish at making the effort to keep in touch with old pals in RL anyway. But it doesn't mean that I don't remember the good times and the smiles that he brought to me.
Safe Journey Tony, and big hugs to Meg & to Tony's kids too.
