February 6, 1867: Eldridge Reeves Johnson was born in Wilmington, Delaware . An American businessman and engineer who founded the Victor Talking Machine Company in 1901 and built it into the leading American producer of phonographs and phonograph records and one of the leading phonograph companies in the world at the time. Victor was the corporate predecessor of RCA Records.

The Victor Talking Machine Company was incorporated in Camden, NJ, in October of 1901. Johnson released the first product line, bearing the name of Victor and the "His Master's Voice" logo. An agreement was made with the Gramophone Company, by which they would share the selling rights to the world markets. The Gramophone Company would sell to the British Empire and Europe, The remaining Berliner Gramophone Company of Montreal would handle Canada, and Victor would have rights to North America, South America and China.

A character ("General Hopgood") in the 2009 film The Men Who Stare at Goats — is loosely based on Major General Albert "Bert" Newton Stubblebine III, born Feb 6, 1930 and died Feb 6, 2017, was commander of the "psychic spy unit" who believed he could train himself to walk through walls.

Stubblebine was strongly influenced by Lieutenant Colonel Jim Channon's New Age-inspired First Earth Battalion Field Manual.

Channon adopted the term "warrior monk" for potential members of the First Earth Battalion.

The DOGE storm is upon us. Perhaps the most devastating political innovation of 2025 is not the Eye of Sauron, as DJT's gaze is called, but it's technological enabler, DOGE's Eye of Agamotto, that roves where the media could not go. It's a tremendous demonstration of the power of data. The assumption was always that data would control the masses. They forget it also created an inescapable chain of accountability. The digital shock troops have been deployed.

In trying to make sense of the changes sweeping over 2025 it is interesting to compare and contrast it with the liquidation of the British Empire. In 1945 the institutions that made up imperium had become a burden; 80 years later obsolescence had also overtaken the US 1945 world.
Like Britain the US seeks to wind up the institutions of the postwar. They are no longer worthwhile. But unlike Britain, the US has the possibility of reinventing and enlarging its power by changing the basis to pillars which give it a present historical advantage.

The new strategy is to divest from the UN, the multilateral alphabet soup, the old media and invest in (I think) domestic human capital, technological dominance and resource acquisition terrestrially and off planet. That is what I think they are trying to do.

The natural strategy of the ancien regime as it tries to stem the collapse it senses all around it is to hit the brakes everywhere; to adopt the politics of rejection as the antidote to failure. This is what the Left will do as soon as can coordinate a response.
