The problem with many of these post Cold War Geopolitical academics is they are often wrong in the end, but some make for entertaining reading.


Unpopular opinion: Trump isn't in process of rearranging the worlds balance of power. And he's not ceding American hegemony. What he's doing is removing a veil of altruism that was sold as Pax Americana and in doing so revealing a reality that already existed before millenials were even born. I think the opposite of some grand Machiavellian scheme. Trump is telling everyone (in his own foxy manner) exactly what he is planning to do. It is up to everyone to decide whether they agree or disagree with the plan. But it is not a secret and interpretation is key.

As the new administration ushers in a new modus operandi for the USA, and as such exports fewer USD$, "supply side economics" is likely to take on a whole new meaning for the rest of the world. It will be painful for some.

Yes, but both countries waltzed around every principle that was set out afterwards, so it was just an expensive day cruise that ended with some feel good ideas. The Charter agreements has some parallels to Trump's agenda concerning world peace & sovereign rights.
