The British press has persuaded itself they have buried Axel Rudakubana, that he will die in prison. But there's a subconscious realization that the system, perhaps through an excess of good intention, actually made him, and they await with a mixture of guilt and fear, until the next. Rudakubana is so grotesque and unnatural that he seems the product of mutant forces, which neither Africa alone nor Europe alone would have been capable of producing, but only possible through a perverse combination of malice unseen in ordinary nature.

In prison, Axel Rudakubana will be both a threat and a target. He will be leaving in a box

Southport killer’s parent ‘took delivery of knife from Amazon’
The schoolboy pocket knife has been found in sites dating back to 500 BC. In medieval times they were called "penny knives". By the 18th century they were "pen knives" for quills. In the 20th century they were used for sharpening pencils. Now they are "two-click" killer knives.
In 1937 Sheffield City Council celebrated the Coronation of George 6th by presenting every schoolboy in Sheffield with a stainless steel, suitably engraved knife in his pocket. This was repeated during the coronation of Elizabeth II. Somewhere along the line things changed.
The decline in the "schoolboy knife" corresponded to the rise in the "zombie knife", so called because it resembled the prop knives in movies. Think of it as an "assault style" knife of no particulr utility capable of terrifying the British govt.

A zombie knife (also known as a zombie killer knife or zombie slayer knife) is a type of ornate knife or bladed weapon inspired by zombie TV shows. In September 2024, the UK Government made the selling of zombie knives illegal without exceptions.

Axel Rudakubana's ricin 'KILLED my cat'
Rudakubana had not yet solved the refinement process nor devised a delivery system but knew enough to store the ricin feedstock in Tupperware.
This raises the question of why the hazmat site was not publicly signposted, nor the immediate neighbors warned or evacuated. Possibly the police were unsure or wished to avoid another panic.
