January 17, 1961: President Dwight D. Eisenhower warned the nation of the dangers posed by what he called "the military–industrial complex" in his farewell TV Presidential Address. He also expressed concerns about the dangers of huge government deficit spending.
Eisenhower's close aide and friend General Andrew Goodpaster told presidential historian Michael Beschloss in 1982 that President Eisenhower had originally planned to warn against the "Military-Industrial-Congressional Complex" but concluded that it would be "too provocative" to include Congress in this indictment.
January 17, 1967: An article in the Daily Mail reported that there were 4,000 potholes in the roads of Blackburn, Lancashire. Beatle John Lennon used the article as the inspiration for lines in the classic song, A Day in The Life, on the Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band album. The line in the song goes: "Now they know how many holes it takes to fill the Albert Hall." This not only gave Blackburn a quirky piece of fame but also demonstrated how mundane local news could intersect with pop culture in unexpected ways.

If you really look deep, then maybe you'll find
That somewhere there will be a place
Hidden behind my comedian face
You will find somewhere there's a house
And inside that house there's a room
Locked in the room in the corner you'd see
The voice is waiting for me, to set it free

"When you’re young, you look at television and think, ‘There’s a conspiracy, the networks have conspired to dumb us down.’ But when you get a little older, you realize that’s not true. The networks are in business to give people exactly what they want. That’s a far more depressing thought. Conspiracy is optimistic! You can shoot the bastards! We can have a revolution! But the networks are really in business to give people what they want. It’s the truth."

Quote:Under the above title the Saturday Evening Post of January 17, 1959 presents such a shocking exposure of the dangers we face from the Jesuits (Society of Jesus) as to fill the heart of every loyal citizen with dread. This article provides conclusive documentation of the dire threat of this Roman Catholic order and of the forces of the Vatican affiliated with this order, which I have attempted to drive into the consciousness of yourself, officials in the government, and the sleep-walking people of the United States for the past five years, risking my very life from day to day to do so. At last you must listen, for the truth is now spread before you from impartial sources. Permit me to re-analyze for youre comprehension the salient facts presented in this article:
1. PURPOSES: The fundamental purposes of the people of the United States are to pro- mote the principles of liberty stated in our Declaration of Independence and in the Preamble and Bill of Rights of our Constitution.
The fundamental purposes of the Jesuits an International Dictatorship are dia- metrically opposed to our Charters of Liberty, and are publicly and arrogantly pro- moted on our own soil by this anti-American organization. I refer you to the "Syllabus of Errors" of Pope Pius IX, in which our freedoms are categorically condemned, point by point, thus establishing the forces of Jesuitism Vaticanism as enemies of our state.
The Constitution of the United States provides for democratic government of, by and for the people. The Constitution of the Jesuits (and imposed upon all Roman Catholics by command of the Pope), provides for a military dictatorship under the command of a "commanding general", the "Black Pope" of Roman Catholicism, to whom even the "White Pope" must yield authority, and backed by the claimed 30 million Roman Catholics in the United States.
