Phoebus an epithet of Apollo, the god of light is the result of a 23-day conference in which major electrical companies divvied up world markets. At the time, bulbs regularly lasted 2,000 hours or longer. Phoebus members agree this must be lowered to 1,000 hours. Bulb makers jointly agree to submit their products to a Swiss lab that will determine the best practices for lowering the product's lifespan; the makers will pay fines if they exceed the 1,000-hour target. This is supposedly meant for greater efficiency and safety per bulb.



In reality, the companies want to maximize sales through consumers needing to buy bulbs more often–a motive later proven by antitrust investigations. The Phoebus pact is broken up by the onset of WWII in 1939, although suspicions of obsolescence continue to shadow the sector. 100% true today!

TikTok is preparing to go dark for U.S. users. Apparently, Liberals are flocking to Xiaohongshu, also known as RedNote, meaning "Little Red Book" an app controlled by China, to replace TikTok. Turns out, they ban LGBTQ content, all inappropriate outfits, & only 2 genders. LOL! I've never ever used the app nor any Chinese app. It's being reported that over 700,000 TikTok refugees joined Rednote — an app whose name references the 1964 compilation Quotations from Chairman Mao Tse-tung — in just two days.

Bans don’t really work and plenty of American history proves it, so this was probably the real goal all along.
