Taliban and Haqqani leaders have denied the existence of the "network", saying it is no different from the Taliban. In 2012, the United States designated the Haqqani network as a terrorist organization. In 2015, Pakistan banned the Haqqani network as part of its National Action Plan. The elusive Haqqani network has been blamed for some of the deadliest attacks during the War in Afghanistan (2001-2021), having a reputation of frequently using suicide bombings and being able to carry out complex attacks.

How Al-Qaeda, the Haqqani Network and the Taliban are connected through marriage. Mullah Omar (founder Taliban), Jalaluddin Haqqani (founder Haqqani network) and Al-Zawahiri (co-founder Al-Qaeda) are all fathers-in-law of Hamza Bin Laden (son of Osama Bin Laden).

And Sirajuddin Haqqani (son of Jalaluddin Haqqani, acting Minister of Interior, Deputy leader of the Taliban, the Caliph and leader Haqqani network) and Mullah Yacoob (son of Mullah Omar, 2nd Deputy leader Taliban and acting Minister of Defense) are Hamza Bin Laden's brothers-in-law. Only the CIA could possibly have a handle on this Islamist jigsaw puzzle as they (along with British intel) created parts of it.
