Q is using a confusion attack vector. It is designed so that the other side can never get a grip on what is actually happening.
Confusion attacks are very hard to circumvent since most of what you experience is actually smoke and mirrors.
Observe but don't play. The only winning strategy is not to play. The game is to wake up people before the main event so that you can see the enemy defeated.
