Stupid things really, like why in the hell would I need a mammogram every single year with absolutely no family history of breast cancer? Why would I need an MRI a couple of times a year for headaches that were caused by an old neck injury that I stopped experiencing years ago after getting a particular piercing? Why would I need multiple additional meds for a condition that I've been controlling for years now with my diet?
Since I became a "self pay" patient it is amazing! I see my regular doc twice a year instead of 4 times, see my 2 specialists once a year instead of 4 times, they don't argue when I just say no to additional meds or unnecessary tests. And guess what? My health hasn't been affected at all. Funny how that works! Oh and for my meds I pay $10 month for GoodRx Gold plan and with that my meds are cheaper than just my co-pays were with insurance!
Pharmaceutical companies are part of the great divide. It is not as much about the haves and the have nots with this scam. It is more about the live and the ones they will let live.
What good is advances in medicine if only the elite are allowed to benefit? I guess it is just another way to reduce our numbers more quickly.
