My critters seem to have a high sensitivity to coyotes and alligators. I can tell when they are about, by the sounds they make and how my critters react.
They go crazy over rabbits, other small mammals, and some strange dogs that get too close to the house. Dogs they know they don't get in a frenzy over, if they don't know the dog they can be quite vocal about it. I don't know what sets them off.

Last night it was the possum though. Quiet docile little thing. Luke grabbed him and shook Hell out of him before I could get him off and back inside the fence. Must've been the fourth or fifth time ... and he still ain't bright enough to move a little further away ... at least to the other side of the creek.
There are better things on the menu at the homes of my neighbors, so they don't hang out around here. If they are about they are usually just passing through.
