I'm hearing a lot about some bridge that got dropped into some water somewhere around Baltimore MD, especially from "conspiracy" circles. There are any number of "whodunit" scenarios blaming this one, that one, or the other one for the event, but so far none of those scenarios have been able to offer me a plausible reason why anyone would intentionally drop a nothing bridge leading into a nowhere town like Baltimore.
I suppose someone COULD have done it on purpose, but so far no one has been able to tell me, plausibly, WHY they would go to all the trouble to hatch out an elaborate plan to do it. I mean, seriously - Baltimore is a giant nothing burger. If I had a farm in Baltimore and a home in hell, I'd sell my farm and go home. There is nothing in or around Baltimore that is worth going to the effort to destroy, and Baltimore's population and leadership are pretty mindlessly destroying it on their own anyhow - so why bother going to the effort?
The most plausible explanation for it I've seen so far is that "some times, a cigar is just a cigar", and sometimes an inept shipwreck is just an inept shipwreck. For strategic impact, dropping a bridge leading into Baltimore is equivalent to dropping a series of leaflets onto Ottumwa, Iowa. You're just not going to get much bang for the bucks you have to shell out to get it done, including paying someone to come up with the elaborate planning to "conceal" the originators of the plot to do it.
