I'm not a fan of Trump because he gave me the impression he was going to do bad things to dirty politicians ... but, he didn't do jack-shit. And, ya know what? I think if he gets elected again ... he's not gonna do jack-shit.
To be fair to Trump, he didn't have much chance to do anything about cleaning up the dirty politicians. As soon as he was elected, they saw the handwriting on the wall and started pre-emptive strikes, keeping him on the defensive for the entire 4 years of his tenure. He was kept so busy defending himself and running a country that he never had much of a chance to go pro-active.
With that said, I doubt a second term would be any different. If he manages to survive past election day, through the incarceration attempts and assassination attempts that are sure to come if the incarceration attempts don't work, and manages to get re-installed in office by some miracle, then the pre-emptive strikes would start all over again (if they've ever really stopped), and it would just be another 4 years of the same.
That's the main reason I think he should not even run again, and instead sit on his laurels and become kingmaker for the Republicans. He'd stand to have a lot more influence that way than he would sitting in the Oval Office.
I don't like the "mean tweets", but I don't care about them that much - some buttercups just need to toughen their asses the hell up if it bothers them that much. What I do care about is putting the country in a position where he is giving the enemies of the nation a hook to hang their attacks against America on. That's pretty much all a second term is going to do.
