So a guy is jumped by two armed individuals as he is unlocking the door to his house and see and hear what happens next.
The moral of the story: If you have to defend yourself in California -
1) Police all your brass
2) Destroy all your camera footage
3) learn to say "I'm sorry officer - I was fast asleep in bed, and was awakened by several loud popping noises outside, like everyone else. I have no idea what happened - it is Chinese New Year?" with a straight face
4) Hide the bodies if any are generated until you can give them a proper burial, preferably underneath some rare plants. Be advised that wood chippers as a disposal method are messy.
5) neither brag nor complain about what happened. Just quietly go about your business knowing in your own heart that you did what was necessary to defend your own.
As an alternative, you could simply just refuse to ask the State for permission to exercise a Natural and Constitutional right. Then whether any "permits" are "suspended" is a moot point. It won't matter that the State refuses to allow you to exercise your rights - you didn't ask for their permission anyhow. After all, that's how your opponents manage to arm themselves to get the advantage over you!
Sad state of affairs when criminals are more free in an allegedly free nation than law abiding folks are. That's something we need to address and rectify.
