Cats are murderous by nature. They do kill their fair share of vermin though.
I have to keep reminding myself that I got Bad Ass Baby (BAB) from the feral ranks.
Though he does a good job of imitating his domestic brothers. In fact he is much better at it than they are, because they grew up in the lap of luxury. They came from the same poor, iffy, beginnings. Enoch and Sylvester are from the same litter. Mom was a Maine Coon mix. She was a house cat that hooked up with one of my neighbor's barn cat. Their beginnings was written about on RN3. But BAB faced the first months of his life, battling for his life 24/7, so he seems to appreciates the life he has now.
He has a mischievous streak that is as wide as the State of Texas. He is playful. Bold. Daring. He also knows when he has pushed the envelop and is so darn smart it is scary.
Enoch and Sylvester are lizard, frog, and snake killers. They like to lay their kill out as trophies. Bad Ass Baby leaves his in the hallway in front of the storage room door, and as I just found out less than an hour ago, at the side of my bed.
I thought I was standing on a rubber band. Imagine my shock and surprise to find that I was standing on a dead lizard.
I am going to have to figure out a way of working out a deal with BAB. No gifts in the bedrooms.
