I realize there are numerous 'Christian' versions...and that some (as your own) do not give credence to what was mildly described, above...while some make such 'doctrine' a central tenet of their particular path/s.
And, I suppose, I should have narrowed it down, further, with the explanation that I was addressing those, or those familiar-enough with such doctrine, to have an opinion.
To some the question might be entirely pertinent, while others (as yourself) find else-wise.
I simply find it an intriguing moral dilemma, from the perspective of my fundamental upbringing.

There are several different Christian versions of the "end times" - there are the Premillenialists, the Post Millenialists, the Amillenialists, etc. I'm a "Pan-Millenialist" - I think it will all pan out in the end according to God's plan, whatever that plan is, and I believe God holds that plan pretty close to the vest.

The Bible speaks of quite a number of "antichrists". Now, I know that many Christians mean "THE Antichrist" when they speak thusly, the one mentioned by John in the Apocalypse of Revelations... but I also think that one has already come and gone, nearly 2000 years ago.

But let's assume I believe that THE Antichrist is coming soon, just for the sake of discussion. I'm not sure why I would care about that. I already have a God, so I wouldn't be worshiping another one. No reason to live in fear and dread, because what is gonna happen is gonna happen - nothing I can do to help or hinder it. So I don't understand why I would waste my time striving in either of those directions.

Really, I can't figure out a reason to get my drawers in a wad over any antichrists, including THE Antichrist. Wouldn't it make more sense to just make sure I'm right with my God, and let that mean old Antichrist worry over his own problems, rather than ME trying to worry over his problems and neglect God due tot that effort in the wrong direction?

So, I would neither cower in fear nor rejoice in promotion of the end. What the Antichrist does ain't none of my business - I don't belong to him, and I don't think any Child of God would belong to that Antichrist - that would be just a pull in opposite directions that would pull a man apart, no?

I think that whatever this Antichrist does or does not do, if one is a Child of God and refuses to allow himself to get sidetracked from that, then he or she will be ok in the end... and the end is the goal, the prize, the place you're supposed to keep your eye on, and persevere on to, isn't it?

Whether the "end times" came 2000 years ago, will come tomorrow, or 2000 years in the future, what is certain is that the end will come for us all, sooner or later, within usually 100 years or less. Best be ready for that end, because if you are, then none of the other ends will catch you by surprise.

No one knows when their own individual "end times" will come, whether in a massive world shaking apocalypse or whether with a quiet loss of one's next breath. So I believe the watchwords should be "semper preperatus" - always prepared. If you're always prepared, knowing that the end WILL come whether in a bang or a whimper, the"end times" won't matter so much - you'll be onward and upward in any case.

Whatever you prep for, there is no reason to prep for more than two weeks, it's chaos after that, walking dead basically. Just make sure you have stock for two weeks. Know where the rivers and stream are, thats the best we can do. Prepare for cannibalism, walking dead really isn't far off.

Many times when people talk of the Anti-Christ, they are referring to The Beast. There are many anti-Christs, it is a label for anyone who is against Christ. 

I wouldn't want to take the number of the beast to buy and sell though. Some Christians think as long as you believe in Christ, you can take the number without committing sin, I don't think so myself.

I am not a Christian. I don't pray, I don't practice. I reject that Jesus was God embodied in the flesh, the virgin birth, that Jesus is the only son of God, that Jesus died by crucifixion, etc. I also reject the creeds/formulations given by the churches, absurd Trinity, the dogma of sin, forgiveness/redemption, transubstantiation, etc. I resent having been brought up in a Christian upbringing. I regret I wasn't raised in a secular family, spared from absurd fictions. My re-education is of the humanist mold (i.e. Bertrand Russell, Schopenhauer).

That said, I strongly believe in the Antichrist! I'm afraid this is no laughing matter, this is deadly serious. It's not implausible that a delusional, self-deceived person, endowed with manifold gifts/talents and a brilliant mind, would go haywire if he were given all the power in the world, gradually believing he is God, demanding worship from all, and enforcing this belief with persecutions, executions, etc.

We saw something like this before with Hitler when he spoke about Providence, destiny, and his mission. He believed what he said and did exactly what he said he would do but his contemporaries believed it was rhetoric.

One doesn't have to be religious or entertain crazy beliefs to realize that there are madmen who would attempt the same thing if they had the power. Today, we see the political right, evangelicals, QAnon, Alt-Right, etc., trying to portray Trump as a savior-like figure while Trump plays to his base and panders to their hatred.
No, Trump is not the Antichrist, although the Democrats, CIA, Corporations would like to convince you that he's their guy. Neither is Elon Musk.
Comparing Trump with Hitler would be superficial. Hitler was a soldier/military leader, Trump has no military experience. When Trump met with general Alexander Lebed, he said "you wouldn't want to play nuclear weapons with this f*cker... This is not like your average real-estate guy who's rough and mean."

Here are the Facts:
Religion is the last thing standing against tyrants, dictators, politicians, etc., Prevents them from brazenly doing whatever the f*ck they want out in the open. They have to work around it, by pluming themselves as charitable, honorable, outwardly Christian. That's the actual reason why they want to get rid of the Christian religion, not to replace it with something better (which I'd support), but so that they can cover up traces of their crimes in the chaos.

If you tell the American people that everything they believed in was a lie, that their values are worthless, it shapes a void which leads to something like the Soviet Union collapse. A Russian analyst who lived to see the Soviet Union collapse told me,

To that end, I'm willing to help defend Christendom and reinstate religion, provided the Christian religion is purified and purged of its errors by a pope and ecumenical councils.

To that end, I have long been building a compelling case for the Antichrist's existence. The real Antichrist will most likely be a western Christian, military soldier and leader crowned emperor of Europe, the majority of Jews and Christians will go over to him.
The most realistic/plausible scenarios can be read in Russian philosopher Vladimir Solovyov's Short Tale of the Antichrist and Daniil Andreev's The Rose of the World. These are not really mystical works (mysticism/occultism), the difficulty lies in their presentation. If they received scientific training, they could've formulated it clearly.

Karl Marx and Hitler likewise began their revolutions with manifestos. Hitler was mistaken to assert that revolutions are carried by demagogues, not by writers, it always begins with a thought and written words.

The so-called mark of the beast is essentially a ritual, similar to how anti-Semitism distinguishes real Nazis from superficial adherents:

I must disagree. We each have individual responsibility for this mess, allowing prevailing conditions to thrive is ennabling vice. We have no one else to blame but ourselves. The evil we put out into this world, every negative emotion, thought, and deed contributes to making it worse for all. How did Hitler come to power? It was because people sacrificed the higher considerations for the practical/lower, they put themselves first before others, so they worshiped false values (power, glory, honor, wealth) instead of doing everything they could to transform society, they turned indifferent, were reduced to an utter state of carelessness.

It's not surprising that you would disagree. There are a number of things we disagree on, and there are also a number of things we are in complete agreement upon. That's one of the things that makes the world go 'round. If we were in complete agreement upon everything, then one of us would be completely unnecessary and superfluous. As it stands, in the points we disagree on, I'd say we both have at least something to add to the discussion, and that's what makes life worth living.

In matters of the Antichrist, you are correct about me - I care nothing at all about the Antichrist. I am entirely indifferent, and utterly careless about his existence or non-existence. I do not care about what he may do to Society, because he cannot do anything to it without it's permission - if it gives that permission, it gets what it gets. If Society wants to give him that power over them, then they can live with the results of their own actions.

I withdrew from Society quite some time ago, I saw the cliff it was intent on driving itself off of, and wanted no part of it. Oh, I still offer my opinions on what it does to itself, but those are offered primarily as a disinterested observer, rather than as a frantic member.

The values you mention (power, glory, honor, wealth), are societal values, not mine. They are the very tools Society uses to deconstruct itself and leave itself vulnerable to manipulation by ne'er -do-wells like an Antichrist. My withdrawal from Society was not because I worshiped those values, but rather because I rejected them and Society clung to them for dear death. That necessitated a parting of the ways.

I'm not prepping for Biblical "End Times" and I'm not going to help bring it on either. While I am a Christian I don't believe everything written in the Bible because it was written by superstitious, fallible men and then edited by men with ulterior motives (power, control, strengthening patriarchal rule) like the Council of Nicaea.

What I DO prep for is natural calamities and war in all of its forms. If God has His eye on the sparrow he's probably keeping tabs on me too so I trust Him to have my back- and I will do my best to return the favor however I can.
