Remember that strange sinister like 2014 Deagel report? It stirred a lot of anxiety and a number of conspiracies on ATS and other similar forum boards.
The name Déagol is derived from the Old English word deagol (or digol), which means "secret" or "hidden". It is also a translation of the Westron name Nahald, which means "secret" in the Northern tongues of the Vales of Anduin. In The Lord of the Rings, Déagol was a Stoor-hobbit from the Gladden Fields who discovered the One Ring and was the best friend and cousin of Sméagol.
The original page can still be found on the internet archive, but it predicts a 70% reduction in the US population by 2025 - from various things.
It includes an interesting footnote that was apparently posted in response to the many questions they got about these predictions. They offer a number of possible explanations for the population reduction and even mention extreme psychological effects that could lead to mass suicide. There is no mention of aliens, UFOs or UAPs.
They specifically note that no pandemics or nuclear wars were included in the forecast and that the figures could therefore drastically increase. The full text is below but the conclusion was particularly interesting:
"...we provide our information and services AS IS without further explanations and/or guarantees. We are not linked to any government in any way, shape or form. We are not a death or satanic cult or arms dealers as some BS is floating around the internet on this topic. Take into account that the forecast is nothing more than a model whether flawed or correct. It is not God's word or a magic device that allows to foresee the future.
