NORAD detected, tracked, and intercepted two Russian TU-95 and two PRC H-6 military aircraft operating in the Alaska Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ) on July 24, 2024. NORAD fighter jets from the United States and Canada conducted the intercept.

The Russian and PRC aircraft remained in international airspace and did not enter American or Canadian sovereign airspace. This Russian and PRC activity in the Alaska ADIZ is not seen as a threat, and NORAD will continue to monitor competitor activity near North America and meet presence with presence.

July 26, 1959: Lt. Col. William Rankin ejected from his F-8 Crusader at 47,000 ft and fell through a thunderstorm cloud. He then spent 40 minutes being whipped around as lightning bolts shot by him. He suffered immediate frostbite, and decompression caused his eyes, ears, nose, and mouth to bleed. His abdomen swelled severely. He did, however, manage to make use of his emergency oxygen supply. His parachute opened prematurely where God took him for a wild ride. He eventually landed in a forest, noting his watch read 6:40 pm. It had been 40 minutes since he had ejected. His next ordeal was searching for help and eventually was taken to a hospital at Ahoskie, North Carolina. He returned to active duty shortly thereafter. WTF!? Only a Marine could have possibly survived riding thunder for 40 minutes, in minus 50F air & free falling into a forest!

July 29, 1955: Arthur S. Flemming advised Eisenhower Chief of Staff Sherman Adams that the Greenbrier ("White Sulphur Springs") West Virginia had been selected as the emergency relocation (COG) site for the U.S. Congress. Construction would not begin until late 1959.

The "General Paul" referenced in the memo is Lt. Gen. Willard Stewart Paul (February 28, 1894 – March 21, 1966) who was with the Office of Civil Defense in 1955.

The Aircraft Carrier USS FORRESTAL arrived on Yankee Station in the Gulf of Tonkin on 25 July and immediately began combat operations. The first four days were routine; the fifth day, 29 July, was not.

July 29, 1967: USS Forrestal (CVA-59) was rocked by a series of fires and explosions after a glitch caused a Zuni rocket on an F-4B Phantom to fire and hit the fuel tank of an A-4 Skyhawk on deck. The disaster killed 135 sailors and injured 161, destroying 21 aircraft and costing the Navy US$72 million. Four more sailors later died of their injuries. On the flight deck that day was Lieutenant Commander (later Senator) John McCain, who was wounded by an exploding bomb. His dad was Pacific Fleet admiral at the time.


Over a dozen 1,000 and 500 pound bombs detonated within the first few minutes of the fire, punching holes through the 3" armor plating of the flight deck. Flaming fuel poured through those holes, into the working and berthing spaces on the O-3 level, then down into the aft hangar bay. Numerous smaller explosions occurred as lesser weapons, ranging from the Skyhawk's cannon ammunition to 5" rocket warheads, detonated.

Although it was 13 hours and more before the last fire was extinguished, FORRESTAL's crew did put it out ... but at a very high human cost. FORRESTAL left Yankee Station under her own power, steaming to Subic Bay for temporary repairs before returning to Norfolk on 15 September 1967.

After shipyard repairs, USS FORRESTAL continued to serve, making many more deployments with the 2nd and 6th Fleets. But she never again deployed to Vietnam. USS FORRESTAL was decommissioned on 9/11/1993 after 38 years of active service.

Let's find out...

Could we be trapped inside a simulated reality, rather than the physical universe we usually assume?

It's a tantalizing theory, long theorized by philosophers and popularized by the 1999 blockbuster "The Matrix." What if there was a way to find out once and for all if we're living inside a computer?

A former NASA physicist named Thomas Campbell has taken it upon himself to do just that. He devised several experiments, as detailed in a 2017 paper published in the journal The International Journal of Quantum Foundations, designed to detect if something is rendering the world around us like a video game.


Now, scientists at the California State Polytechnic University (CalPoly) have gotten started on the first experiment, putting Campbell's far-fetched hypothesis to the test.

And Campbell has set up an entire non-profit called Center for the Unification of Science and Consciousness (CUSAC) to fund these endeavors. The experiments are "expected to provide strong scientific evidence that we live in a computer-simulated virtual reality," according to a press release by the group.

Needless to say, it's an eyebrow-raising project. As always, extraordinary claims will require extraordinary evidence — but regardless, it's a fun idea.

Simulation Hypothesis

Campbell's experiments include a new spin on the double-slit experiment, a physics demonstration designed to show how light and matter can act like both waves and particles.
Campbell believes that by removing the observer from these experiments, the actual recorded information never existed in the first place. That's instead of current quantum physics suggesting the existence of entanglement that links particles across a distance.

In simple terms, without a player, the universe around them doesn't exist, much like a video game — proof, in Campbell's thinking, that the universe is exclusively "participatory."

Campbell isn't the first to explore a simulation hypothesis. Back in 2003, Swedish philosopher Nick Bostrom published a paper titled "Are You Living in a Computer Simulation?"

Basically, his idea was that if we progress far enough technologically, we'll probably end up running a simulation of our ancestors. Give those simulated ancestors enough time, and they'll end up simulating their own ancestors. Eventually, most minds in existence will be inside layers of simulations — meaning that we probably are too.

Campbell's hypothesis takes a different tack than Bostrom's "ancestor simulation," arguing that our "consciousness is not a product of the simulation — it is fundamental to reality," in CUSAC's press release.

If he were to be successful in his bid to prove that humanity is trapped in a virtual reality — an endeavor that would subvert our basic understanding of the world around us — it could have major implications.

Campbell argued that the five experiments could "challenge the conventional understanding of reality and uncover profound connections between consciousness and the cosmos."

When first released, thalidomide was promoted for anxiety, trouble sleeping, "tension", and morning sickness. One of if not THE biggest anthropogenic horrifying medical disaster ever. U.S. National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said that Alexei Navalny, who died in a Russian prison in February, was supposed to be included in Thursday's swap.

And now we have confirmation from the Kremlin on the release of 13 prisoners who were being held in Russia.

President Vladimir Putin pardoned the prisoners “with the aim of returning Russian citizens detained and imprisoned on the territory of foreign states,” according to a statement released by the Kremlin.

“The Russian side is grateful to President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko for the gesture of goodwill and the pardon of a German citizen sentenced to death, R.Krieger,” the statement added.

“Moscow is also grateful to the leadership of all countries that assisted in the preparation of the exchange.”

Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) confirmed the release and return of eight Russian nationals as part of today’s prisoner exchange in the Turkish capital.

“The Russians were exchanged for a group of individuals who acted in the interests of foreign states [and] to the detriment of the security of the Russian Federation,” the state-run TASS news agency said.

Two children were also said “to have returned to their homeland” as part of the deal.

Germany has finally issued a statement about today’s prisoner exchange, saying it was “not an easy decision.”

Government spokesman Steffen Hebestreit said there was a “public interest in enforcing a prison sentence on a convicted criminal.” He appeared to be referring to the release of Vadim Krasikov, a Russian citizen sentenced to life in prison in Germany for the 2019 killing of a former Chechen rebel commander in Berlin.

But this had to be set against the “freedom, welfare and in some cases, the lives of innocent people detained in Russia,” Hebestreit was quoted as saying by AFP.

Meanwhile, amid the joy surrounding the release of Russian political prisoners, ex-president Dmitry Medvedev is striking a more somber note.

The very notion that we should concern ourselves with whatever transgender story of the day takes precedence over everything else tells you that Transmutation is the real key to discernment. The concept of Normalcy is farcical. Most everyone is weird in their own little ways, some more than others. For many of us weirdos (or Rogues) this is a thing to be celebrated, that there exists an infinite spectrum of weirdness from which we can learn and grow. Others wish to be normal.

There's nothing wrong with normal, or wanting to be considered such, but one has to define it. The reason right wing people (obviously not all) are so adverse to being called weird is because they wish to establish themselves as the "Good and Correct" operating model which must be conformed to or else. If you call them deplorable, they wear it as a badge of honor. If you call them stupid they call you elitist, and perhaps in that moment you are. If you say they are weird it dismantles the foundation of their imagined moral superiority, and defangs them; it transforms them...into the circus sideshow geeks they really are.

Ironically from an etymological (and mystical) perspective, "Weird" derives from "Wyrd"- the power of Fate, destiny, or doom. By forcing them to reject Weird they're unwittingly admitting their impotence and powerlessness.

August 3, 1936: the GOAT of American Olympians, James Cleveland "Jesse" Owens won the 100 metres at the Berlin Olympics. It was the first of 4 Gold Medals he won at the Berlin Games. He was credited with "single-handedly crushing Hitler’s myth of Aryan supremacy." The 100-meter sprint, the long jump, the 200-meter sprint, and the 4 x 100-meter relay.


He had already achieved celebrity as an Ohio State U track star when these photos were taken in 1935, but due to the dumb amateurism rules of the time had to eke out a living in a series of odd jobs - elevator operator, Ohio state capitol page, and as you can see here, a pump  jockey at a Columbus gas station.


The car he's filling is a 1933-34 Hupmobile Model K coupe. Hupmobile was one of the first cars to make around the world tour, driven 41,000 miles from 1910 to 1912. In 1910 Hupp built one of the world's first electric car.

Oddly enough, Jesse Owens was already receiving a hero's welcome 2 years before working as a gas station attendant: in photo #1, surrounded by admirers in Cleveland after setting world records in the 100 yard dash and long jump at the 1933 National High School Championships in Chicago. His ride: a 1933 Lincoln KA.

As a junior at Cleveland's East Tech High, he had just missed making the 1932 Olympic team; after his immortal, Hitler-enraging triumphs at Berlin in 1936, he got another welcome in NYC with ticker tape in a 1929 Cadillac phaeton (photo #2)...



Owens did continue some auto-related work post-Olympics. In 1942 he was hired by Ford Motor Co as personnel direct for African-American workers; shown with fellow Ford exec Willis Ward, a former football and track star at bitter OSU's rival Michigan.



In 1965, he teamed up with Arco petroleum to create the Jesse Owens Arco Games for kids, and later in life returned to Ford as a spokesman and member of the Lincoln-Mercury Sports Panel; he's shown here with a 1969 Mercury Montego MX.

Incidentally, Jesse Owens wasn't the only Olympian to pump gas. The great Hawaiian surfing legend Duke Kahanamoku grabbed gold medals at the 1912 and 1920 Olympics, and at age 34, a silver at the 1924 games. After that he hung 'em up and opened his own Union 76 station in Honolulu where he sometimes manned the gas pump.
