First you should work entirely outside of the organized UFO groups; they are infiltrated by the same official agencies they are trying to influence, and they propagate any rumor anyone wants to have circulated. In Intelligence circles, people like that are historical necessities. When you’ve worked long enough for Uncle Sam, you know he is involved in a lot of strange things. The data these groups get are biased at the source, but they play a useful role. “Second, you should look for the irrational, the bizarre, the elements that do not fit: that’s what I have come to observe at this meeting tonight. Another piece of data for the extraterrestrial file? Guess again. This young woman is a subject who has never seen a UFO. She demonstrates that the “abduction” experience is a constant that hypnosis can trigger in almost anybody.

Should we just discard everything that started with hypnosis at this point in time? Whitley and Chris probably had something happen to them, but then everything got twisted after due to the hypnosis and now they are fucked and so is the zeitgeist. Same with Betty and Barney. I'm sure there are many others.

Yes they makes it hard, but it's understandable. I would do the same, seems logical if some unknown force out there was messing with people. I feel this redeems Luis Elizondo, getting a counter intel guy into the program seems like a solid plan.

I wonder what they found they, I think they found something. They wouldn't be giving up the gig if nothing stuck/was revealed or it's a last effort from the gov.

Tart: Yes. And he couldn’t quite do as well on some things and his physiology was different. Again, it demonstrated the validity of this stuff. We can apply science and learn more about OBEs. It’s not just, well, there are these weird people who have funny experiences. The idea of the soul has clearly come through an out-of-the-body experience all through history. It’s not Greek theologians debating about a word that means wind and then just arrive at the concept of the soul.

Mishlove: You got associated with Dr. Andrija Puharich back in the 1950s. He had the Round Table Foundation, as I recall, up in Maine. Puharich is known these days mostly, I suppose, for his discovery of Uri Geller, the Israeli psychic, but back in those days he had an active research program, and you became an associate of his. 

Tart: Yeah, in 1953 I went off to college, MIT. I thought I was going to be an engineer.

Mishlove: In fact, you are the person who introduced the phrase ‘out-of-body experience’ into the research literature. 

Tart: Although, unfortunately, I originally thought out-of-the-body experiences needed an acronym to be scientific: so O-O-B-E’s, out-of-body experiences. I made a terrible mistake because people started coming up to me after lectures saying, “I want to tell you about my OOBEs.” I never thought anybody would pronounce it. So just OBE’s, out-of-body experiences.

That book is warning to people not to follow anyone who claims to be able to communicate with UFOs, angels, or join UFO cults where leaders claim to have answers on UFOs.

State of the U(fo)nion

With the appearance of Jacques Vallee amongst the panelists at Sol, I am left to wonder if he is reminded of his past work, specifically 1979’s Messengers of Deception. This book, more focused on the dynamics of UFO belief than the phenomena itself, sees Vallee reach uncomfortable conclusions about where the culture was being led when left to its own devices on the fringes. He writes:

"I don't think we should expect salvation from the sky. I believe there is a very real UFO problem. I have also come to suspect that it is being manipulated for political ends. And the data suggest that the manipulators may be human beings with a plan for social control. Such plans have been made before, and have succeeded. History shows that having a cosmic mythology as part of such a plan is not always necessary. But it certainly helps."

Vallee also is concerned about another development seen in the rise of UFO religions: "In the absence of serious, unbiased research on the subject, the belief in the imminence of UFO ‘contact’ undermines the image of Man as a master of his own destiny. Is this concern not at risk of coming to pass—albeit through Western military structures as opposed to extraterrestrial or foreign means? Are large swaths of people not allowing themselves to be subjugated by the authority of imperial powers—entities that have rarely had the greater public interest in mind?

Vallée's 4 books from 1969 to 1991 strongly argues the ET hypothesis does NOT account for all the strange & weird cases and reports within the UFO phenomena. Vallée donated all his papers & notes to Rice University in 2017 but stipulated that it cannot be opened til 2027. Tick-tock.

Note: Once you start to research the UFO characters from the 50s & 60s the UFO phenomena becomes less interesting and the spooks, authors, charlatans & religious cult leaders much more interesting. Most everything on the UFO phenomena & lore that has come out in the 21st century is garbage. But, that's just me. I actually watched that video, the dude is very uninformed. Because Jack did a ritual 8 months before the Roswell - and that's the link. It's a massive leap. The rituals they did is done all over the world every day. There is no logic here. If it happened on the same day sure that would have been interesting, but 8 months?! How do you even make that link?

More a symptom of living a sheltered life and not knowing anything outside of Sunday school.

Weird coincidence that RFK’s alleged assassin, Sirhan Sirhan, was a member of AMORC, and that French AMORC grand master Raymond Bernard was allegedly in contact with a "superior being" named MAHA who said AMORC will play a role in propaganda and public indoctrination for the "coming of the Kingdom of the Graal." It is always the same mumbo-jumbo, isn't it ?  "They" exist but remain hidden (even though they are all-powerful).  Everything will be made clear "someday" when the spaceships land.

-If- these events occurred as described, it sounds like a cover story that is endlessly recycled to distract attention away from something else ... something more vulnerable than one may expect.  Perhaps a parallel civilization that remains hidden because it fears that people could overwhelm it by sheer numbers despite any technological advantages that civilization might possess.  Maybe their tech is only a bit more advanced than our own or there are other bounding factors that force them to remain 'invisible'.

None of the tales told by these guys, or UFO entities, or fairies etc. make any real sense.  It is feel-good nonsense using selected people as agents to spread their propaganda.
