Starship Post-Launch Pad Damage

Wow! That is one powerful rocket(s). They may want to re-think this portion of the project. That burn is all the way through the concrete to the soil underneath. 

I saw video of chunks of concrete, steel, and what-not flying hundreds of meters, splashing down in the ocean. That cannot be conducive to a healthy launch vehicle clearing the tower without damage.

I briefly heard about the launch pad yesterday and that the damage was done by just 2 or 3 rocket engines; not all 5 engines had powered up. Elon may want to research Roman concrete. lol.

five engines? super heavy ( first stage) has 33 engines, star ship (crew vehicle) has 6. maybe they meant didn't fire right went out during the flight. you can see the ones that didn't fire in the video.

if you go to the 45:19 mark you'll see the mission console banner start upat the bottom and you'll see  super heavy's engines indicator spin up on the left, each dot is a engine and star ship's six on the right. at first there's only three out then a big burst then a few seconds later a forth one goes out the a little later the fifth one. then at the 46:18 to 46:21 marks you can see super heavy's engines in the video ( looks just like on the banner) and you can see only 28 firing and five out.



i think they were worried about that, about a month ago musk said during a interview that if super heavy didn't melt the pad and only made it up a few thousand feet or so they / he would be happy.
