Haiti Requesting Reparations

Back in the day Haiti revolted from France. The French eventually recognized Haiti's independence but demaned payment to compensate the slave owners.
Macron’s announcement came as demand has grown for greater recognition of what France’s “independence debt” did to Haiti’s development. It also comes amid a debate about reparations, and whether there should be financial restitution for the debt.

Fuck Haiti. Nothing good has ever come out of Haiti. I'd be good with France giving Haiti a mushroom cloud as "reparations". The sooner Haiti is entirely eliminated from the map, the sooner the world will be a better place.

I'd be ok with putting all of the Haitians on a raft flotilla, sending it out into the Caribbean, and then sinking the rafts... and giving that half of the island to Dominica.

In case I'm being too subtle, I have no use for Haiti or Haitians at all.

yep most of the haitians i ever met or know of you needed to watch your back. i'm sure there are some good people there, i just never met one. in a place like haiti, i guess you gotta do what you gotta do to survive.

their a fairly wimpy lead county, more woke than the U.S. is, wouldn't surprise me if they voted to pay them.

france only had one period where their colonial ambitions lasted anytime that was the first one 1530's to late 1700's / very early 1800's like 1803 if memory serves. but just like the last two periods they still got their asses kicked or went broke and had to bail.

The Clinton Foundation owes them reparations, I can agree with that. Plus, Haiti does have the distinction of giving us VooDoo and Zombies.

Vodou is an Afro-Haitian religion that has been described as the "national religion" of Haiti. Many Haitians take the view that to be Haitian is to practice Vodou. Haitian Vodou is an Afro-American religion that developed in Haiti between the 16th and 19th centuries.

France, well, they should be glad to get away from them, even if they did have to pay money.

I work at an airport.  Haitian passengers are routinely problem children.
and I've never met a single person who had been there and wanted to go back.

fwiw Haiti is on my prayer list, but I has no desire to go there.
