The Trump administration’s recent decision to suspect USAID payments is reportedly already having a “devastating” effect in Jordan, according to a UAE report citing nonprofit organizations.
The National outlet reports that some 35,000 jobs have been lost as a result of the move, including both Jordanians and Americans working on projects funded by the US.
One of Jordan’s larger nonprofits is quoted in the Emirati report as saying that more than half of its budget comes from US sources and the aid suspension has affected operations “tremendously.”

The lack of funding is affecting projects covering physical and mental health, disabilities, refugees, sexual and reproductive health services, and gender-based violence protection and rehabilitation services, The National reports.
“It goes beyond the numbers. It’s a ripple effect on the whole economy,” the organization says.

Cry me a river as we have real America citizens sleeping on the streets with no place to work or go.

Something I learned long ago is that you cannot take care of anyone else if you don't first take care of yourself so you are fit to take care of them. We can't keep giving our crutches to the rest of the world while we are just limping along ourselves.

Let's get the US back on it's feet and fit first, and then we can consider what we can do for everyone else. We should not overextend ourselves when that day comes, however, as overextending ourselves is a large part of how we got here to begin with.

The rest of the world will need to figure out what it can do for itself as well. We may be able to help, but if we are doing it all ourselves and they never step up for themselves, then what do we actually need them for anyhow? If we do it all for them, then that isn't "help", is it? It's doing their own government's job for them, and if that is to be the case, then we might as well take over and just make them another state... and collect taxes and resources from them.

This is sad. Trump has forced me to have to disagree with him, and agree with the Jordanians and Egyptians. I think Trump might benefit from an education in the recent history of the Middle East.

Of course neither Jordan nor Egypt is keen on taking in more "Palestinians". Ever since the "Palestinians" were invented in the mid 20th century, they have been a thorn in everyone's side. They were the cause of the Lebanese Ciivl War, for example. The "Palestinian Refugees" tried, and have largely succeeded in, taking over Lebanon. They tried to take over Syria. They tried to take over both Jordan and Egypt ... and no doubt both Egypt and Jordan can recall that, because it's not been that long ago.

I can't blame them. I wouldn't welcome "refugees" that I know are going to try to take over my house, either. That would be foolish, irresponsible, and suicidal. They have their own people to think of, same as we do. They MUST protect their nations from the Great Heathen Army that is the "Palestinian Refugee" problem.

I would shed no tears, not a single one, if everyone decided to entirely eliminate the "Palestinians" from the equation tomorrow. That is neither "racist" nor "genocidal", as the "Palestinians" are not a race - they are simply Arabs collected from a number of Arab nations in the 1930's and 1940's and gathered together in Israel in an attempt to prop up some non-existent "ancestral claim" to the lands of the Israelis.. They are not a nationality. There IS NO "Palestine" nation, nor has there ever been. "Palestine" is simply the name of a region that has never been a nation, and has been owned by various Middle Eastern players in actual nations and empires over the past few thousand years, before which it was called "Canaan". It is named after the Philistines, who also were invaders intent on taking lands that were not theirs to take. "Palestine" is actually a European word for what the locals call "Filisteen".

The "Palestinians", or "Filisteens", have been "refugees" for what, 80 goddamned years now? You'd think that in 80 years, they could have learned to get along with someone, somewhere, and ceased to be "refugees" and instead become "citizens" of one of the places they've settled in... but no, they can't do that. their entire reason for being is to destroy Israel and take over yet more territories they have settled in. See above comments about Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, and Egypt.

But there are no handouts in becoming citizens, only in remaining "refugees".

Likewise, there is no possibility of a "two state solution", since the Filisteens themselves consistently refuse any such accommodation. There can be no two state solution without two states, and the Filisteens are adamant that Israel must cease to exist... and therefore two states are impossible when the charter of one of those states insists on the complete destruction of the other. We call that "a state of war", not a "two state solution". folks just need to stop puffing on that pipe-dream, because it ain't never gonna happen.

Likewise, Hamas is talking out of it's ass when it says That Palestinians have something called "national rights". In order to have "national rights", one must have a nation, which the Filisteens do not have now, nor have they ever had. Israel has offered them the chance, in the West Bank and in Gaza, but the Filisteens have refused that nationhood because it does not involve the conquest of other folks' lands. They are not happy with the lands they have been given, they want MORE, and lands that belong to others... like Israel, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, and Egypt. Probably in that order.

So, it is in the interests of all concerned to simply eradicate the Filisttens. They have no purpose in life other than conquest. It is not "racist" to say so, since "Palestinian" is not a race, and it is not genocide to say so, since they are not the sole representatives of a race, not being a race at all. They are simply a made-up subset of homeless troublemakers, who want only to take over other peoples' homes via conquest.

Their sole reason for being is conquest, and to give college kids something to bitch about.

So, while Trump may know real estate, he doesn't know the Middle East. The only way to make his dream for Gaza come true is to eradicate the Filisteens before building his Gaza Resort, so that it would be safe for visitors to come and enjoy the resort. There is no other way. 

He could start, I suppose, by eradicating the Filisteens, then building a Walmart, a McDonalds, and maybe a Victoria's Secrets in a strip-mall right in the center of the former Gaza, and then leveling and paving everything around the strip mall, all the way to the borders of the former Gaza, as a parking lot. Once that was acomplished, and the Filisteens were no more, only then would it be safe to start constructing the resort around the sttrip mall.

King Abdullah knows that, but will never admit it. al-Sisi also knows that, but will also never admit it. Someone needs to get Trump up to speed on it.

I do agree that, if ALL of the hostages are not released and repatriated by midnight Saturday, local time, then hell should be unleashed on Gaza, and should not be stopped until Gaza and Hamas are no more. Not even if they later cry uncle and finally keep their promises and release the hostages. I believe in giving folks a chance to do right and keep their word, but if they consistently refuse to do so, then I won't stop beating them when they cry uncle, because that will simply teach them that they can push me to the wall, cry uncle, and get away with pushing me to the wall.

You don't get to make a promise, and then blame the other guy when YOU fail to keep a promise that is entirely within YOUR power to keep, and is not dependent on what the other guy does or doe not do. I'm big on keeping promises and living up to your word, which is why I so seldom make any promises that I might not be able to keep.

Nope. If ALL of the hostages are not released, then Israel, the US, and any other nation with hostages still held by those pretenders should unleash hell, and kill every living thing (with the exception of any hostage they may find) within the borders of Gaza. It should be bombed back into the stone age, with the only residents left in it stones.
