Iran abandons Houthis in Yemen ?

Not sure Iran will sever ties with their proxies in Yemen unless the USA is really good at destroying the leadership and infrastructure.. 

Infrastructure in Yemen is more of a joke than an actual fact IMO.
I used to scuba dive in the Red Sea off the coast around Jeddah Sa. Beautiful clear clean water once upon a time... Now, probably not so much...

Iran has officially pulled its military forces out of Yemen, abandoning its long-supported proxy group, the Houthis, as the U.S. bombing campaign intensifies. The Telegraph reported on April 3 that Iranian troops, including elite Revolutionary Guard units, have been ordered to withdraw amidst relentless U.S. airstrikes that began on March 15. At least 67 Houthis have been killed, including key figures like Hezam al-Asad. With the withdrawal, Iran signals weakness across the entire Middle East. Its previous support for groups like Hezbollah, Hamas, and the Assad regime has dwindled, and now the Houthis are left to collapse alone. The U.S. has deployed bombers, fighter wings, and multiple aircraft carriers to the region, with the USS Carl Vinson set to double American airpower in the Red Sea. Yemen infrastructure is likely a joke on the surface but, I'm interested in what they may have underground.
Because somehow they survived years of Saudi (American) bombs.

I have my doubts Iran is pulling out on the Houthis. Looks to me like they are just evacuating their "advisors" and un-assing that AO to avoid getting their "advisors" damaged in a strike. If their "advisors" got damaged, they'd have to respond, and I don't think they really want to go toe to toe with the Great Satan and have their asses humiliatingly handed to them. Toe to toe is not the Iranian style - it's lacks any plausible deniability. back-attacks from the shadows is more their style. When they go toe to toe, like sending a massive rocket wave attack against Israel, it's always a spectacular failure with them bragging about what all they did, when they didn't get shit done.

They backed Assad, and the Assad government is no more - so they ought to have plenty extra money and resources to pour into getting the Houthis, Hezbollah, Hamas, etc to do their fighting for them by proxy. As an aside, ain't it interesting that Assad and Company moved to Russia instead of Iran?

What to watch for is whether the Houthis and Hezbollah start running out of rockets and drones to attack shipping and Israel respectively with. If they start running out of rockets, THAT would be a good indicator that they've been abandoned. Just having some Iranian troops tuck tail and run doesn't mean anything other than that the Iranians are risk-averse to fighting their own battles.

Ages ago I had a couple of pen-pals in Iran, two sisters. I was into talking with them as they were like any Western woman, the one was even going to school to be a veterinarian. I cut them off and apologized for how my country was treating theirs. The people there are modern and Westernized, at least they were some 30 years ago.

At MSB-- met one in the USA who was the wife of an air force officer who had served the Shah.  She was a charmer, her husband was a lucky man.
