It's amazing how our mil/intel folks can ascertain who launches what halfway around the world, but we are told they are absolutely baffled at drone swarms over home skies. Whoever believes that BS I gotta a bridge in the Sahara desert to sell you.

Protocol 1 since 1942: If you don't know what they are then you shoot them down, period. Since they're not shooting them down they must be ours and they know exactly who is controlling them.

Preparing the public for what will become normal everyday surveillance? For your safety of course. Swarms of drones on our coastal borders & ports as part of NORTHCOM/NORAD UAP drill exercises for Operation Homeland Synchronizer under the direction of NORTHCOM/NORAD/COG Combatant Commander General Gregory M. Guillot.

Operation Homeland Synchronizer was and is taking place from Agony Hill, Colorado (Fort Carson); Western Air Defense Sector (WADS at Joint Base Lewis-McChord), Eastern Air Defense Sector (EADS HQ in Rome, NY), the Hawaii Region Air Operations Center (HIRAOC), the Alaska Region Air Operations Center (AKRAOC) and the Canada Air Defense Sector (CADS)... All these commands report to NORAD. The Op tests included drone swarms versus UAP. I assume UAP is also ours. Red Team vs Blue team war gaming.
Last year (December) it was mystery drones over Langley for 2 weeks. Before that we had (trial) balloons for a dry run.

A large part of these exercises are to test the military defense infrastructure while another synchronous test is conducting psyops on the public at large using drone hysteria and "we don't know what they are; where they came from; who is in control of them" as cover while collecting the data. Chaos & mass confusion, and propaganda play a huge role in the Information Space Domain. All this data gets fed into a super-computer. How much of a role AI plays in the data mining I have no idea but I'm sure it's immense and some (a lot?) of it factors into the war gaming scenarios.

It all has a lot of parallels to the military UFO games of the late 50s-early 60s and the 80s. While all this UFO/UAP/Drone hysteria was going on the former NORTHCOM/NORAD commander was writing articles and notably his Op-ed recently published in the WSJ:


The U.S. Homeland Stands Unguarded - The Pentagon needs to modernize its plans to defend against new threats from Russia and China.

On the surface they are data mining and testing the public with a large scale swarm of various drones while observing how the public reacts to a threat from above which plays right into their UFO threat narrative which may be an Emergency Powers test. All this going on during a president-elect period with a very weak Administration with lack of response on this whole drone show is very concerning. Concerning being whatever our deep state faction people are trying to change policy wise in the next 35 days.
Sometimes those tests go live such as a live event that piggybacks off a drill/exercise. Misdirection. 9/11 for example.

Then again maybe just more drone tomfoolery for next 35 days, BUT the military is definitely up to something or preparing for something.

Just my 2 cents.

Another possibility (conspiracy?) is some of those (sniffer) drones are looking for a rogue nuke OR a military exercise to locate a nuke. I hope that drill doesn't live.

When you see:
- Claims of unprecedented threats
- Calls for extreme measures
- Demands for unquestioning trust

Remember Operation Northwoods.

History doesn't necessarily repeat, but it sure does rhyme, a lot.

Power doesn't just want control. It wants permission. And it will create whatever crisis necessary to get it. We've all seen it, lived it numerous times. Watch what institutions do when they think no one is watching. When online rumors and institutional distrust collide, you get drones.

ON THE TRAIL OF THE PHANTOM FLIER

During the winter of 1973-74 British detectives were drawn into a cat-and-mouse pursuit of a phantom helicopter which they feared was being operated by Irish terrorists. As DAVID CLARKE reveals the scare had all the elements of an urban legend in the making.

Late one September night in 1973 security guard Simon Crowe was alerted by an urgent phonecall. Crowe guarded high explosives stored in a quarry high on the Peak District moors near Buxton. Nearby residents had seen what they thought was a helicopter about to land inside the quarry and called police. Crowe raced towards the site in his Landrover. This was the second time in one week he had been called out in the middle of the night and this time he was determined to get to the bottom of the mystery.

Detectives soon realised the publicity their investigation had received was counter productive. Hundreds of reports had poured into official sources, many describing perfectly normal helicopters on legitimate flights. Throughout the world an oil crisis was causing widespread fuel shortage, yet the phantom seemed to be untroubled by this problem. Doubts were increased when a psychologist put forward the theory that the flap was a rumour-fuelled panic triggered by the police and the media. Professor John Cohen of Manchester University said the initial reports from the police might have triggered off the flap. “It is contagious,” he said. “Plant an idea and you get a kind of visual epidemic.”

With no resolution found and no evidence of IRA involvement established, the scare ended almost a quickly as it began. The Special Branch file was closed in October 1974 with the comment “the helicopter and pilot were never identified.” But the mystery chopper never went away. Meanwhile, across the Atlantic a wave of mysterious cattle mutilations spread across the US Midwest and these were quickly linked with the activities of unmarked “black helicopters” linked in folklore with UFOs and their occupants.

David Clarke also wrote a paper called "Phantom Helicopters: A rumor-generated visual epidemic" in Contemporary Legend New Series Vol 5 (2002) (pg 67-91) [Starting on pg 71 of this PDF]

Conditions:
1: ambiguous and important stimuli
2. effective means of spreading reports
Statements by "experts" or persons of status in the community are vital.
When condition-the lack of any convincing official interpretations-is met, rumors find a fertile breeding ground.



In the Phantom helicopter scare, there were only 3 credible sightings of helicopters, everything else was mis-perceptions.  "The media stories had turned an everyday helicopter into a suspicious 'phantom'"



We see this with the current panic. Much of the drive behind it comes from the supposedly credibly sightings by law enforcement, coast guard, politicians, etc..That adds credibility which in turn drives the hysteria. As with now, much of it turned out to be misidentified airplanes. Most people rarely look up at the sky at night, until the past week.




Triggering factors:
1. Sheer quantity of sightings (the sky is falling)
2. Quality of report (ie. 'credible' witness)
3. Activities of a promoter (ie. msm journalist)

Gordon Chang builds a plausible thesis that they may be DHS, FBI, or possibly CIA drones searching for nuclear material that has been smuggled into the US and is being, or has been, built into some sot of weapon. In support he offers the fact that there have been two recent radioactivity "spikes" in New York, one on each side of the Hudson River.




If that is the case, it also explains why the government is neither shooting them down nor explaining why they are up there. An explanation in those circumstances would induce a panic retreat from New York at least, and very likely numerous other places the drones have been sighted, with what would probably be a staggering loss of life, even without a nuclear detonation. Just the confirmed threat of one would start the circus up. I can tell you for sure that New Yorkers, city folks in general, would likely meet with a harsh end out here in the boonies. We saw that here, during COVID, when a gaggle of New Yorkers tried to flee the city and alight here, at Poplar Gap in Buchanan County. They were met at the county line and turned back. If they had insisted, they would likely never have been seen again. We do not suffer invaders here as gladly as some other folks do.

If that were the case, I would think tht non-descript cars, with sensors fore, aft, right, and left driven through the residential areas, might be a better, low er-key detector choice, but I've never credited many government agencies with an overabundance of smarts - so maybe they ain't thought of that.

He also flirts with the notion that it is a reconnaissance mission preparatory to an invasion by either China, Russia, Iran, or North Korea... or all of the above in a united front. That, to me is scarier than a nuke in New York, but thankfully it's a lot less likely. None of the above mentioned powers have the force projection capability to get that done. Even all of them combined don't have that kind of oomf. They don't have enough boats and planes to deliver an overwhelming force, plus the fact that they'd have to cross two oceans without being detected... and then they'd meet up with "a rifle behind every blade of grass". I reckon they might try it, but that would be pretty suicidal on their part, and likely not just the end of all their soldiers, but the end of their nations as well.

So, I personally believe that second scenario to be a lot less likely.

WHAT IS GOING ON WITH ALL THOSE DRONES? PART ONE

However, in some weird way I suppose it is appropriate to lead off this week's blogs with the story that seems to be preoccupying everyone's attention: the drones flying all over New Jersey, and now, elsewhere around the country as well. As I write this, there are now reports coming in from Europe (the United Kingdumb, as one of our regular UK contributors likes to call it). I suppose there is something fitting about seeing strange objects in the sky this season. After all, according to the myth of the season, a fat man dressed in red with a big white beard flies around in a sleigh led by reindeer delivering presents to the worthy, and in some versions of the myth, lumps of coal to the unworthy.  Perhaps that's the point. But we'll get back to that, because in a weird sort of way it highlights today's high octane speculation.

Indeed, they are so preoccupying the attention both of the lamestream propatainment media and its digital-internet media counterpart, that I talked about it briefly in last week's News and Views from the Nefarium, so consider this a "revision and extension of remarks."

So let's dive in, using our usual methodology of assuming all these reports to be true and accurate statements of what is going on, and, for the sake of argument, barring and excluding the idea that the media are lying (yet again). Granted, such an assumption today - after the covid planscamdemic, after the 2020 election non-fraud, Russiagate, Kamalarkey's outrageous "polls", &c &c - seems more than a teensy-tiny-bit counter-indicated. Nonetheless, making such an assumption raises issues of its own.

For example, consider the first story linked above, that the drones are now forcing shut-downs of an airport in New York, and that New York governor Kathy Hochul is demanding the federal government step in and do something, like provide some clear answers to what is going on, and who is behind it.  Minimally, this story contradicts the narratives being promoted by the federal goobernment up to that point, namely, that they had no idea was was going on nor who what behind it nor what the purpose was, except that they appeared to be completely harmless, just like the quackcines were safe and effective.  That "response," such as it was, was nonsense to anyone with an ounce of common sense; drones flying in the skies having an unknown origin and purpose certainly constitute a potential threat to air traffic and to airports. Having assured everyone that there was no threat, we now have the first strike against the promoted narrative thanks to Governor Hochul. Not only are they a potential safety hazard, they have managed to appear near some of the world's busiest international air hubs:

“This has gone too far,” Hochul said in a terse statement Saturday, in which she noted the runway of the Orange County facility was shut down for an hour because of the unidentified aircraft.

Stewart Airport services both commercial and military flights and is adjacent to a New York Air National Guard base, where the 105th Airlift Wing is stationed.

The unidentified drones — which have been hovering over New Jersey for nearly a month and have been seen in Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Massachusetts — were also recently spotted flying over LaGuardia International Airport and Newark Liberty International Airport.

And if those drones pose a safety danger to Newark International, John F. Kennedy International airport is not that far away and in fact is sort of "between" Newark and LaGuardia, so one might as well throw that into the mix as well.  Note also the crucial detail that the affected airport - Stewart - is near a military base.

What, then, may one take away from this story? The drones are real, and they're a potential air safety threat, capable of disrupting air traffic.  Now imagine cells of "drone fliers" spread around the country near major air traffic hubs and airports, and you have...

... a problem, and a big one if the activities were to be somehow coordinated on a national (or even international) basis. Hundreds of flights, in the air, unable to land, or on the ground, unable to take off? That's a real mess, and a real crisis.

This brings us to the second story linked above, the story about the alleged crash of one of these drones. One notes a decided absence of any details in the story, other than that one of the machines supposedly crashed near the New Jersey town of Hillsboro. The article is accompanied by a picture, which could be of anything, but which, in context, we're supposed to believe is a picture (probably from a drone!) of the crashed drone, being attended by the members of an emergency response team in firefighting gear.  Again, the article is significant because, like the story about Governor Hochul's call for some answers from the federal goobernment, this story also puts paid to the earlier narrative that the government did not know what the "drones" were nor where they were from nor who was behind them. Actual physical wreckage from one such drone would provide many clues as to who was behind at least some of the sightings, depending on the size and type of drone. Such wreckage might provide clues to the manufacturer, the point of sale, and to the kind of expertise needed to fly it. The lack of any details about this story is suspicious, and by parity of reasoning, so is the lack of any further investigation or disclosure of those details. One implication that emerges from this story is the impression that this particular wreck was not all that sensational. Drones, like other kinds of aircraft, can, and do, crash.

It is this last point that brings us to the last two stories, because these last two stories tend to indicate two things, namely (1) that the phenomenon is not homogeneous, that is to say, we may actually be looking at more than one type of phenomenon, that involving "just your plain ole everyday drone," and (2) a completely different phenomenon involving something much more exotic with much more exotic properties. In the latter case, the last two articles indicate the last type of phenomenon: not only are some of the drones alleged to have been seen emerging from the sea, but the ambiguously-worded report comes from local law enforcement:

The Ocean County, New Jersey Sheriff’s Office reported that 50 drones suddenly emerged from the ocean last night, prompting the Coast Guard to conduct a full-scale investigation.

Investigators spotted 13 drones off the coast, each with an estimated wingspan of 8 feet. The Sheriff’s department launched its own “industrial-grade” drone in pursuit, but it was dramatically outpaced by the mysterious drones, which “disappeared into thin air.”


Ocean County Sheriff Michael Mastronardy said his officers saw 50 unmanned aerial vehicles, “coming off the ocean.”

But what does "coming off the ocean" mean? Did the drones appear from the direction of the ocean? Or, as stated earlier in the article,  did they suddenly emerge "from the ocean?"  And howsoever one answers that question, one is not dealing with the typical commercially-available drone, for if they are coming "from the direction of the ocean" then that implies an ocean-going launch platform - a ship - from which to be launched and controlled. And if that's the case, then we are dealing with a sophisticated actor, with lots of money and access to assets the normal local drone-flier does not have. And if the drones are "emerging from the ocean", that is to say, are going from an underwater submersible to an airborne mode of operation, then one is dealing with a very exotic technology, one that cannot be bought at your local drone supply store. In the first case, one is dealing with a monied and capable actor, and in the second and more extreme case, not only a monied and capable actor, but one with technological sophistication and access to technologies that are extraordinary and most likely highly classified. (And while we're at it, what did that Coast Guard investigation uncover? Where's the report?)

So the question becomes, who are these actors?  Indeed, is there more than one group behind this, and if so, are the objectives of the operation different, coordinated, or opposed to each other for each group? who might they be? Here is where we leap off the end of the twig of high octane speculation and plunge like Wile E. Coyote into the canyon below.

But for that speculation, we'll have to wait for part two on Wednesday...

I think it's just grand how the Feds, via a few White House mouthpieces, have come out now and said "umm... well, you see, it's... errr... a combination of manned aircraft, Military/ police drones, commercial drones, and hobbyist drones... and, well, the Northeast corridor is just plain eaten up with those sorts of flying things... and so, really, nothing to see here, no danger, just move along now...."

I think the key is probably the "military/ police drones" sandwiched into the middle of that. And, if they are suddenly being so overactive as to create this stir, then it would be great to know what sort of "non-dangerous" stuff they are suddenly searching for.

On Monday last I reviewed four articles having to do with all the drone sightings in New Jersey, and now, elsewhere around the country, noting that some aspects of the original narrative -  namely that they posed no threat and that the goobernment did not know what they were - had collapsed with the alleged crash and recovery of one of the drones, and that New York Governor Kathy Hochul had called for answers from the feds when an airport had to be shut down because of the potential threat.

But we did not get to the most interesting aspect of the problem: the question of who was behind the whole thing, and what the objectives may be. There are many possibilities here, and in my opinion, there are three that head the list:

(1) the American deep state, or breakaway civilization, itself;

(2) some foreign power or powers, either hostile or friendly to, the United States, or a mixture of both; and,

(3) some non-territorial actor with pretensions or claims to sovereignty.

Let's begin by noticing something that - to my knowledge - has not been pointed out: the current drone flap originated in New Jersey. Turn the clock back to the 1930s, and to Orson Welles' famous (or infamous) radio broadcast play of H.G. Wells' novel, The War of the Worlds, and one will find two rather interesting and intriguing parallels between the contemporary drone story and the Orson Welles broadcast, namely, in the broadcast, some of the first Martian ships crash into the New Jersey countryside, and the panic that the broadcast engendered actually began and spread from there. But there is another, even stranger, parallel between the Welles broadcast, the original novel, and the contemporary story, and that is that in the original story the Martian ships - which turn out to be weapons of war - are also capable of negotiating the Earth's oceans and destroying humanity's then-most-powerful weapons of war, the battleship.

These considerations were why I had to spell out the methodology, that we assume the reports to be true, and not media-fabricated or embellished lies.  After all, the media has lied about many things in recent memory - the legitimacy of the 2020 elections, the covid plandscamdemic, Russiagate, the Hunter laptop, "safe and effective" quackines, &c &c - it could certainly gin up a "drone crisis."

This consideration brings us to the "who" and "why" of the current drone operation, for there is little doubt in my mind that we are looking at someone's "operation". So let us assume the most obvious possibility: that the operation is that of some group within the American deep state and power structure. What is the goal and purpose? I suggest that this is disclosed by the comparison to the infamous War of the Worlds broadcast, namely, it is a social engineering experiment, to see how the public responds to an unknown and anomalous event or circumstance, how local and state officials respond, and how best to structure and tailor the public statements in order to create a narrative. Indeed, it could be a "beta test" on how to manipulate and create a narrative of "alien invasion." such a social engineering and psychological warfare experiment in my opinion was actually behind the original Orson Welles broadcast. The drones have updated it a bit. But the template is remarkably similar.

A similar purpose could be at work if any of the drone appearances were being operated by some hostile or friend foreign power or groups of powers, along with the added purposes of collecting and gathering data, and measuring the degree of response, and coordination (or lack thereof) between local, state, and federal authorities in response to a highly anomalous circumstance or event. Indeed, this last purpose is far more likely than that of data collecting. After all, America's "favorite enemies" - Russia and China - have very sophisticated spy satellites by which to gather data and information. They do not need to use drones (or for that matter, balloons!). But a social engineering test might be a different matter. 


On this score it is worth noting that one U.S. Congressman has put out the idea that the drones are coming from an Iranian mothership ("from the direction of the ocean"), and are a technology supplied to Iran by China.  My problem with this scenario, however, is that it is very risky, and would invite retaliation if exposed. Why run a test of such a scenario, and tip off the enemy (in this case the United States) about a possible much larger operation involving drones. As I stated previously, such an operation on a coordinated national and international scale could create a real crisis, of hundreds of aircraft being unable to land or take off.  The sophistication of some of these alleged drones - the implied ability to go from submersible to air operations, for example, or the ability to simply "vanish" in other stories - seems to be displaying a technology out of proportion to the benefit being gained from exposing it, and risking its potential capture. Would Iran or China take such a chance? I highly doubt it.

And that consideration brings me to the possibility that in my opinion is a moderately strong possibility: a non-territorial actor with pretentions or claims to sovereignty: a Blackrock or "Nazi international" type of entity. Might such an entity be wiling to test such exotic technologies in conjunction with a reconnoitering operation designed to test responses, and in conjunction also with an operation designed for social engineering and narrative creation purposes? I think the answer is yes, and so much the better, because it allows the government to say it knows nothing, under the cover of plausible deniability. Indeed, it knows nothing; it may only suspect.

And that crash? The last time something like this crashed, it was all, like Orson Welles' radio broadcast, just a bit of overly-hyped fiction; it was just a common ordinary weather balloon.
