My Huskies Seem To Like The Taste Of Natue - NightskyeB4Dawn - 06-27-2023
Water, the liquid that we cannot live without, is colorless and tasteless. It has no flavor, but comes with its own special way of providing pure delicious, satisfying, refreshment.
Yet it is interesting that most people prefer to forego the taste of water for drinks with a bit of flavor.
I thought this just a human thing, but I was wrong. When I looked up why dogs prefer rain water over tap water, it says dogs prefer rain water because it is free of fluoride an chlorine, and has an interesting taste and smell. I have well water and and a whole house filtration system, my water does not have fluoride or chlorine.
I collect rain water for watering my plants and for washing my hair, but I have to beat my dogs to the buckets because they will completely ignore the filtrated water and knock me down to get the rain water.
So maybe they are trying to tell us something.

Same, my dogs will lick rainwater off the deck before drinking tap water in their dog water bowl
