RE: The Media & Their Narratives. - BIAD - 04-04-2023

Here's a thing. I trawl about in the internet and search for strange articles to put on our favourite website.
My penchant is crypto-style stuff that may hint at unusual accounts of things we generally believe cannot be or happen.
My opinion on whether something is true or not comes secondary to myself as for years I've witnessed -during my past
employment and by simply running a story to ground, that most media articles are invented around a tiny kernel of truth.

Anyway, I eventually came across a story from Bristol in England in 2014 where a large crocodile was reported to have
been seen in the vicinity. Police announced on Twitter that a bus driver had observed the six-feet long reptile beneath a
bridge known as 'Coronation Bridge' in the South-West city. However, when investigated, the Police found nothing.

Strange in itself as crocodiles are not indigenous to chilly isles of Great Britain, but when I went to view the actual site
on Google Maps, I found that the law enforcement may have been tweeting about the actual bridge and not the scaly
monster! The Daily Mail article labels the bridge as Coronation Bridge, but the map AND Wikipedia states the bridge
is called 'Bedminster Bridge' and Wikipedia mentions older names, but not Coronation bridge.

I hear you saying to yourself, "So what BIAD...? A media-outlet got a name wrong, big deal!"
But I looked further into the odd reports regarding these tropical amphibians vacationing in the land of boiled food and
warm beer. One of the sparse accounts comes from my neck-of-the-woods close to the city of Newcastle Upon Tyne.
This article was from The Independent newspaper of 2000 and begins with:

Quote:"...A jog around Heaton Park pond in Newcastle upon Tyne carried something of the peril of a trip
around the Louisiana Swamps on Tuesday. Police were investigating reports of a strange rustling
in the reeds.

Visitors to the park are convinced they have seen a 6ft alligator lurking beneath the water. Officers
were understandably sceptical at first but, after continued sightings, have called in reptile experts
who believe they may be looking for a spectacled caiman alligator, found primarily in South
America but sold widely in the exotic pet trade...'

Heaton Park is a small public park and has gone through many changes in its past. So I took a small walk down the
rabbit holes of the internet and discovered something that suggest that -once again, what we're told often isn't accurate.

"There have been many alterations to the park over the subsequent 135 years or so, some of which
we can see from looking at old photographs like those below: the bear set free from (or more likely
died in) its pit by the lake, the lake filled in, the croquet lawn converted to a bowling green (which
itself is now no more), the ‘temple’ claimed by its original owners, the Ridley family, and removed
to Blagdon, the park-keeper’s cottage demolished, the large pavilion burnt down and a replica
subsequently constructed and famously the old bowls pavilion burnt down by suffragettes.

A lake which is shown c100m north-east of the temple was drained in the mid C20...''
Source:

The lake was drained at the middle of the twentieth century...?! Then how can one who reads The Independent
jog around the Heaton Park Lake in the year 2000? Maybe those who genuinely do research for their own interests
could assist the media-outlet?
Huh

"...The north-west side of the park was the site of a bearpit, which was infilled in 1891.
The 1859-64 OS map shows that the pattern of planting in Heaton Park has changed little
with the exception of the Hall (erected c1713, demolished mid C20) and its immediate
surroundings which lay south-east of the present park boundary in an area which has
been built over and is outside the registered area.
A lake which is shown c100m north-east of the temple was drained in the mid C20..."
Source:

There are other websites that offer the same fact that Heaton Park pond was no more long before the scary
time of the Y2K came around. So how can an alligator or a crocodile be seen and reported in 2000, when
no lake existed for it to be seen in?!
Surprised
Me-thinks shite is alive and well and living on some News Desks!!

Quote:Dead ‘Alien’ Found In Bolivian Town After Mysterious Green Strobe Light And UFO Sighting

A small town in Bolivia was sent into a frenzy when locals found a dead alien on their streets after allegedly witnessing a green strobe from what they claimed looked like an alien spacecraft.

The tiny town of Huarina, La Paz, which had a total population of 1,300 according to the last census in 2001, had its inhabitants excitedly pointing their cameras up to the sky to witness the never-before-seen paranormal events.

The main paranormal event, as reported by resident Rita Marquez to local news outlets, was a peculiar sight of small figures, “like those little people who appear to children,” scuttling around in the streets late one night.

“It felt like something creepy was happening; like they were welcoming their friends, you know?” Marquez told the local news.

Two nights prior, in the same area, locals spotted what appeared to be a green UFO hovering around the night sky and then moving off at high speeds.

Thereafter, residents found a small creature, assumed to be an alien, curled up dead in the town’s gutter, per The Mirror.

There are a lot of unknowns surrounding the incident but one thing is for sure; the locals managed to snap a few images of the deceased alien before it mysteriously disappeared from its spot in the gutter.

Due to the inexplicable events of recent days, the local authorities are looking into these reports but have also asked that the locals not say too much about their experience.

While the local government has made claims that the incident will be investigated, what remains unknown is why the “alien” was found dead and whether or not it had been taken by its friends aboard their UFO before they left the scene.

So far this year, 42 separate sightings have actually been reported in the area, which includes West Midlands city county, Warwickshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Worcestershire and Herefordshire.

BonusInsider, a research group that has examined UFO data (put together by means of Freedom of Information demands, together with local and national media reports) discovered there have actually been a total of 17 sightings in the West Midlands city county alone.

RE: The Media & Their Narratives. - BIAD - 04-06-2023

I think we can all agree that one of the principal ingredients of advertising is sex and in recent years, this element
has been pushed to a point where most average-minded people might say the tactic is now ridiculous.

In Britain, there is a television channel imaginatively called 'Channel 4' and is State-owned, but financed through
commercials. Via a programme-producing company titled 'Betty TV' -a business with questionable tastes, Channel
4 believed a great ratings-grabber would be to air a series called 'Naked Education'.

With the risk of seeming prudish, I was surprised to see in the Daily Mail an article where one episode discussed
'body positivity' with children and offered this young audience (and viewers) a group of naked adults displaying their
private parts. Of course, this is cheap sensationalism just for ratings and headline-grabbing, but as seen in the image
below, why pixelate the private parts of the exhibitionists?!

I know we have a standards set-up in the UK, with a government-approved regulatory system called OfCom that
adheres to codes of a high moral principles, but wouldn't be seen as a obvious 'outrage-promoter' by blurring the
adults' doo-dahs for the TV audience, but not for the kids?!

Eh, I'm not bible-thumping here or reflecting values from a by-gone age, it's just is this another example of what
the new guys on the entertainment block call 'effective'? I've watched the slow degradation of the established
conduits of news and entertainment broadcasting, but to believe this kind of 'Scandal-TV' will bring a younger
audience to replace the older ones to be successful, shows how desperate this doomed medium actually is.

The BBC out-do themselves once more with their fakery, they suggest a spontaneous act involving a former
President of the United States, a successful Hollywood Director and a world-renown musician 'just happen'
to wander into a Spanish restaurant.

Strange... it's like an arranged situation where these celebrities just happened to be and a publically-funded
news-outlet omits to mention this in their article.

Quote:Barack Obama and friends surprise Barcelona restaurant

'A former president, a world-famous Hollywood director and a rock music icon walk into a restaurant.
It sounds like the setup to a joke, but staff at Amar restaurant in Barcelona witnessed just that on Thursday night.

[Image: _129547390_d38d3f1521cf9d5b3e4bc14729ada...0.jpg.webp]
And the war in the Ukraine is horrible, don't yer' know.

Employees were left in shock when 44th US president Barack Obama, director Steven Spielberg and musician
Bruce Springsteen walked in unannounced. Chef Rafa Zafra said Amar had been suggested by Spanish-American
celebrity restaurateur José Andrés.

"They came recommended by José Andrés, who has a very close relationship with Obama," Mr Zafra told Spanish radio.
Mr Zafra said José Andrés told him that the booking was important. It was then that he realised that Mr Obama and his
wife Michelle were in the city to attend a Springsteen concert, as was Spielberg.

Staff member Pol Perello uploaded a photo of them posing with wait staff and chefs to Instagram with the comment:
"The pleasure this job brings you!" "We gave them oysters, shellfish and fish from Roses, my classic - the caviar bikini
- a little bit of everything... and super grateful!" Mr Zafra said.

Accompanied by security detail, the Obamas and Spielberg used Friday to visit some of Barcelona's most famous sights,
such as the Sagrada Familia basilica and the Picasso museum. Springsteen's E Street band began their European leg of
their tour on Friday at the city's Olympic Stadium.

The former president first met the rock legend on the presidential campaign trail in 2008. In 2021, they hosted the
podcast Renegades: Born in the USA...'
Archived BBC Article:

However, EuroNews says:

Quote:'...The chef for the in-house restaurant at the El Palace Hotel, which features in the Michelin guide, told Cadena SER that
the reservation was made only hours before the trio’s arrival.

“The security people told us to please not ask them for photos, but just before leaving, Obama entered the kitchen and
told us that this had been one of their best meals and [asked] if they could take a photo with the whole team," he said.

Barack Obama and his wife Michelle were in Barcelona, along with Jurassic Park director Steven Spielberg, to attend
a Bruce Springsteen concert..."

So a "former president, a world-famous Hollywood director and a rock music icon" didn't just walk into a eating-house
then.

Good Lord! That sounds a lot like the inception of an off color joke, of the "A priest, a banker, and a truck driver walk into a bar..." variety!

Come to think of it, if Spielberg is hanging out with both Obama AND Springsteen, well, that IS a pretty off color joke, all by itself!

RE: The Media & Their Narratives. - BIAD - 05-05-2023

It's a sad situation when a left-leaning media outlet like the BBC have to twist their narratives in order to avoid
the obvious and due to their constant gate-keeping mechanism, offers a report that relates the true situation in
the State of California without actually identifying the negative conditions of what is really going on there.

Below is a BBC article about an individual who is suspected of killing two people and injuring another in Davis,
California and is taken from their US partner CBS. In UK cases such as this one, the BBC -along with other media,
provide a map to show where an incident took place. But since the Seattle-based Journalist knows where Davis
is and today's failing style of reporting is all about limiting negative information regarding their personal narratives,
a global reader is left with a narrow story that doesn't offer the usual nuanced commentary.

And of course there's no image of the suspect, yet his name is published and the locale of his alleged actions
reported. Now remember, the setting for this terrible incident is a University. Previous narratives regarding such
schools of learning have smacked of carefree opportunities to socialise, develop and prepare for adulthood.

Instead, here we have a simple report of a crime and yet for those with higher standards, we get the impression
of something far-more depressing in the northern area of California than what the MSM attempt daily to misrepresent.

Quote:Davis California stabbing: Suspect arrested with a 'hunting-style knife'

'A man, who was a University of California, Davis student until last week, has been arrested for a series of stabbings
that put the town on edge, police said. The 21-year-old suspect was arrested on Thursday, a day after being detained
with a large knife.

Instead of the suspect's image, the BBC presents a f*ckin' picture of a van.
Sure

The seemingly random attacks in the town have shut down community events and spurred students to carry weapons.
Police say community members called them after spotting the man in a park.

The suspect, Carlos Dominguez, is currently in custody and is being interrogated. Police say he had been a student at
the University of California, Davis up until last week. He was detained on Wednesday close to one of the murder scenes
after police received phone call tip-offs from 15 members of the community.

The suspect was found wearing clothing "which appeared to be identical to the clothing description provided after the 3rd
attack," police said in a statement. They added that he was found with cuts on his hands and wrists, and that blood and
other recovered "biological evidence" links him to the attacks.

On Thursday, the former student was arrested and charged with two counts of murder and one count of attempted murder.
Carter Carlson told the BBC's US Partner CBS News that he called police after seeing a person matching the suspect's
description near a vigil for the victims in a city park. "I noticed they had long curly hair and they had the Adidas pants that
they've been talking about," said Mr Carlson.

In a statement after his arrest the University of California, Davis said Mr Dominguez was in his third year at the university
until last week. On 25 April, "he was separated for academic reasons", the statement said "We urge the community not to
rush to conclusions or speculate until all facts are known," university officials said, adding: "We are grateful for law
enforcement's quick response and resolution during an extremely difficult period for the city and campus."

Davis Police Chief Darren Pytel said the first victim, 50-year-old David Henry Breaux, was found on Thursday 27 April on
a bench where he often ate and slept. The second victim was 20-year-old student Karim Abou Najm. The computer science
major was six weeks away from graduating before he was stabbed to death at Sycamore Park on Saturday evening.

The third stabbing occurred shortly before midnight on Monday at a homeless encampment. The victim, who has not been
named, was stabbed several times through her tent and is now recovering.

The attacks put the city - with a population of about 67,000 - on edge and forced events to be cancelled.
Evening classes were switched to remote learning for students, after a temporary shelter-in-place order was lifted.
A farmers market in the park was cancelled on Wednesday, and a local grocery store announced it would begin closing early.
A block party that was scheduled for Saturday which was to feature live music and local vendors has also been cancelled.

Because two of the victims were homeless, the city also implemented a temporary shelter programs. According to CBS
News, 24 people from the community have been receiving the emergency housing assistance...'

RE: The Media & Their Narratives. - Ninurta - 05-05-2023

Thank God California gun laws are working, so that Dominguez couldn't get or use one - these crimes would have been SO much more heinous, the victims SO much more dead, had he used a gun instead of the far more civilized knife!

I can't quite place the suspect's racial/cultural affinity... maybe  Swedish? Didn't Swedes and Danes use great big long knives back in the day to civilize their acquaintances?

Quote:Nigerian politician, wife and medical 'middleman' jailed for organ harvesting plot

The case marked the first time defendants have been convicted under the Modern Slavery Act of an organ harvesting
conspiracy. Though it is lawful to donate a kidney, it becomes criminal if money or another material advantage is
rewarded.

Ike Ekweremadu.            The Wife.                 The Donor.                           The Daughter.                        The Doctor.

'A Nigerian senator, his wife and a medical "middleman" have been jailed for conspiring to traffic a market trader to the
UK to harvest his kidney. Politician Ike Ekweremadu, 60, and his wife Beatrice, 56, stood trial accused of a conspiracy
to bring the man to Britain from Lagos so he could provide an organ for their 25-year-old daughter Sonia Ekweremadu.

The couple, along with medical "middleman" Dr Obinna Obeta, 50, were found guilty in the Old Bailey in March.
Sonia Ekweremadu - who has a serious kidney condition - wept in court as she was cleared of the same charge.

At a sentencing hearing on Friday, Ekweremadu was jailed for nine years and eight months, his wife Beatrice was
sentenced to four years and six months in prison, while Obeta received a 10-year prison term. Mr Justice Johnson
told the defendants: "In each of your cases the offence you committed is so serious that neither a fine nor a
community sentence can be justified."

It was alleged the 21-year-old market trader was to be rewarded for donating the organ in an £80,000 private procedure
at London's Royal Free Hospital. The prosecution claimed the donor, who cannot be identified for legal reason, was
offered up to £7,000 along with the promise of a better life in the UK.  [The donor is David Nwamini]

The donor did not understand until his first appointment with a consultant at the hospital that he was there for a kidney
transplant, the Old Bailey was told. According to the consultant, he had a "limited understanding" of why he was there
and was "visibly relieved" at being told the operation would not go ahead.

It was claimed the man was falsely presented as Sonia Ekweremadu's cousin in a failed attempt to persuade medics
to carry out the procedure at the Royal Free Hospital. On the question of harm to the victim, the judge said:
"The transplant did not go ahead but each intended that it should go ahead and you each intended the harm to the
donor that would result.

"He would have faced spending the rest of his life with only one kidney and without the requisite funding for the required
aftercare." He added that the risks had not been properly explained to the victim and there had been no consent "in any
meaningful sense".

The Ekweremadus, who have an address in Willesden Green, northwest London, and Dr Obeta, from Southwark, south
London, had denied the charge against them. Sonia Ekweremadu, who takes dialysis weekly, declined to give evidence
but it was said on her behalf she knew nothing of a reward offered to donors.

Huh

Quote:Russian soldier pleads to Ukrainian drone 'not to kill him' as he is lured to surrender

Ukrainian forces advanced as much as two kilometres (around a mile) near Bakhmut, the city that has
been the major focus of intense battles for about eight months.

'A Russian soldier was offered the chance to surrender after he begged a Ukrainian drone not to bomb him
in Bakhmut. Touching aerial footage published by the Ukrainian military, which has not been verified, shows
the moment one of Putin's troops is given the option to give himself up. Instead of an explosive, a message
containing details on how to give himself up is dropped down to him.

He is told to climb out of his trench and onto open terrain to be escorted to a Ukrainian position by the drone.
The soldier appears to agree to surrender as he signals he will follow the drone over the bodies of dead Russian
troops and into Ukrainian captivity.

Yurii Fedorenko, a drone commander in Ukraine’s 92nd Mechanised Brigade, shared a video of the peace offering
on Telegram. Fedorenko wrote: “Bakhmut: a charitable act from the armed forces of Ukraine on May 9.
“The unmanned combat aerial vehicle squad detected a Russian soldier, who asked not to bomb him.

“Our team dropped him a note with a request to surrender and follow a drone. He agreed, although his ‘fellows’
were firing at his back.” Mykhailo Fedorov, a Ukrainian deputy prime minister, said the soldier was now in custody.
He said: “The enemy noticed the drone and began to make gestures to show a desire to surrender.
“Infantrymen and scouts accompanied him all the way to Ukrainian positions.”

Unverified footage -which means the MSM can use it as filler.

Express.co.uk was unable to independently verify the video.
The remarkable footage comes as Ukrainian forces made considerable advances in the Bakhmut area this week,
according to Ukrainian ground forces commander Gen. Oleksandr Syrskyi. The claim could not immediately be
confirmed but the head of the Russian private army Wagner, which has led the grinding assault on Bakhmut,
said that his forces were considering pulling back because of insufficient ammunition.

Wagner head Yevgeny Prigozhin has previously complained that Russia wasn't adequately supplying his fighters
and said on Telegram on Wednesday: “I demand ammunition in order to save the lives of the fighters and put the
squeeze on” Bakhmut, of which there is only about 5 percent left occupied by the enemy.”...'

Quote:Biden visit to ensure 'Brits didn't screw around'

'US President Joe Biden has said his visit to Northern Ireland last month was to ensure "the Brits didn't screw around".
He was speaking at a Democratic Party event in New York on Wednesday. Mr Biden undertook a four-day visit to Ireland
in April to mark 25 years since the Good Friday Agreement.

His Finger.

The trip also focused on the president's Irish ancestry with the majority of his time spent in the Republic of Ireland.

On Wednesday, Mr Biden said: "I got to go back to Ireland for the, for the, the Irish Accords, to make sure they weren't,
the Brits didn't screw around and Northern Ireland didn't walk away from their commitments." Before setting off for his
visit to Belfast, Mr Biden told reporters his priority was to "keep the peace" in Northern Ireland.
During his stay, commentators remarked on his limited contact with UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.

The White House said both leaders "reaffirmed their shared commitment" to the Good Friday Agreement.
The 1998 deal brought an end to the Troubles - the decades-long violent conflict in Northern Ireland in which thousands
of people were killed. The president urged politicians to make a return to power-sharing during his speech at Ulster
University's Belfast campus on 12 April.

The Northern Ireland Executive collapsed last year when the Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) pulled out as part of a
protest against post-Brexit trade rules for Northern Ireland. A new Brexit deal for Northern Ireland, called the Windsor
Framework, was formally adopted by the UK and EU in March, however, the DUP has yet to drop its protest.

In response to President Biden's remarks on Thursday, a Downing Street spokesperson said "the UK priority was always
protecting the Good Friday Agreement". "We are pleased between the UK and EU we have reached an agreement that
works," they added.

During his visit in April, President Biden said: "Effective devolved government that reflects the people of Northern
Ireland, and is accountable to them, that works to find ways to face hard problems together will grow greater
opportunities for the region." He said he hoped the assembly and executive would be soon restored along with
opportunities to facilitate cross-border relationships.

"That's a decision for you to make, not for me to make. Northern Ireland will not go back, pray God."
Later that week, Mr Biden addressed tens of thousands of people in his ancestral home of Ballina, County Mayo.
During his speech he said the 25th anniversary of the Good Friday Agreement was a reminder of "what you can
accomplish when we work together in common cause"...'

A 500-pound mountain of noodles was discovered next to a creek in Old Bridge Township

A New Jersey town was left baffled after discovering hundreds of pounds of cooked pasta mysteriously dumped in the woods.

The 500-pound mountain of spaghetti and noodles was discovered next to a creek in Old Bridge Township by community leader Nina Jochnowitz who snapped photos of the bizarre discovery.

Nina Jochnowitz, who is running for city council in the town of about 66,000, posted the photos to Facebook and thanked the public works department for cleaning up the starchy mess.

Ms Jochnowitz called the mess in Middlesex County “Mission Impastable” and in her post criticised town officials and accused them of ignoring the situation until she publicised it.

“The township heard or read the comments and responded by doing a rapid cleanup of the river basin and pasta dump,” she wrote on Facebook.

And she added: “A good Estimate is more than 500 pounds of pasta dumped adjacent to the streams intersecting with Hilliard and Mimi.”
She is running on a platform of cleaning up the environment and waterways in the town.

Her photos then made their way to a New Jersey Reddit thread, with users quick to add to the food pun fun.

“We should send the perpetrators to the state penne-tentiary,” one user quipped.

“I don’t know. If we do that, I’m alfredo what will happen to them,” another user replied.

Another user added: “Lead suspect is a guy named Al Dente,” another commented.

Quote:Judit Belfkih has a particularly sad task for a journalist: closing her own newspaper. The serious-looking 47-year-old interim co-editor-in-chief of the Austrian daily Wiener Zeitung is currently busy wrapping up the very last edition of this veteran paper, a relic of printed media. Published in Vienna since 1703, Wiener Zeitung will print its final issue on June 30, after more than 300 years of existence.

"We used to say that we were the oldest newspaper in the world published without interruption and still in business," said Ms. Belfkih as she showed the already half-empty desks in her editorial office. There's a rising melancholy in the corridors as the deadline approaches. Even though the title of oldest newspaper in the world is contested by other publications in Italy, it's clear that the WZ's demise will make its mark in the history of the printed press. And its decline.

Founded under the Austrian monarchy with the name Wienerisches Diarium, the daily newspaper remained a pillar of the Viennese media landscape even though its paid circulation had fallen below 8,000 copies. The end of its print publication is a consequence of the announced abolition of its main source of financing: its monopoly on the publication of legal notices.

The WZ has a nearly unique model in the Western press. Owned by the Austrian state since the mid-19th century after being nationalized by Emperor Franz Joseph Habsburg, who was dissatisfied with its coverage of the 1848 revolutions, the newspaper has remained under government control ever since. Even the price of a copy – only €1 – had to be approved by parliament.

"We've always tried to remain equidistant and neutral," said Ms. Belfkih, who emphasizes her willingness to give space to all, including the far right. In an article published on the 250th anniversary of the WZ's publication (in 1953!) Le Monde noted that "the most curious thing" about "this monument to Austrian history," is precisely that "many readers prefer it to any other for its impartial and objective character." For the writer Elfriede Jelinek, winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature, who took up her pen in defence of the paper, "the Wiener Zeitung is a quiet and calm newspaper, which ignores the torments that lead only to great emptiness, in favor of other projects: informing us and – as the oldest newspaper in the world – enlightening us since before the Enlightenment."

Moving to the digital propaganda sphere for better or worse Habsburg jawing influence...

On April 27, 2023, Wiener Zeitung announced an end to its daily print run. Going forward, the paper will be printed a minimum 10 times a year depending on available funds. The paper also announced plans to establish a media hub, a content agency and a training centre for journalists. At this time, the paper had a 20,000 weekday circulation, with about twice as much on weekends. Almost half of the newspaper's over 200 employees, 40 of whom are journalists, could be laid off due to the change, according to its trade union. After the announcement, several hundred people took to the streets in Vienna to protest the government's move.

A fine example of the MSM altering comments from celebrity's they interview in order to sustain a narrative.

'Novak Djokovic has hit out at the BBC’s coverage of him refusing the Covid vaccine and being denied entry
to the Australian and US Opens. The 22-time Grand Slam champion was detained by the Australian Border
Force in late 2021 and held for over a week before being deported.

Djokovic then gave an interview to the Beeb where he stated that he would rather miss out on future Majors
than be forced to get vaccinated, though recently claimed that the broadcaster “eliminated many sentences”
from their chat as he slammed their coverage of the situation.

Speaking to Italian outlet Corriere della Sera during the Italian Open, Djokovic reflected: “I suffered everything
on my skin. Many people have appreciated that I have remained consistent. 95 per cent of what has been
written and said on TV about me in the last three years is totally false.”

The 35-year-old was specifically asked about his nickname ‘Novax’ to which he reiterated that he is not against
vaccinations. “I am not no-vax and I have never said in my life that I am,” he added.

“I'm not even pro-vax. I am pro-choice: I defend freedom of choice. It is a fundamental human right to be free
to decide what things to inject into one's body and what not. I explained it once to the BBC, on my return from
Australia, but they eliminated many sentences, the ones that weren't convenient. So I never spoke of this
story again.”

He further detailed the experience of being held in Australia alongside a young Syrian who he hopes to reconnect
with at this year’s US Open - which he is now permitted to attend. “A prison,” Djokovic recalled. “I couldn't open
the window. “I stayed less than a week, but I found young people, war refugees, who had been there for a very
long time. My case has served to shed light on them, almost all of them have been freed, and this consoles me.
A young Syrian had been there for nine years.

“Now he's in America, when I go back this summer I want to find him again and invite him to see me at the US
Open; I also feel connected with him. The Australian judge accepted my appeal; but the Minister of Immigration,
who has the power to deport whoever he wants without reasons, expelled me...'
