There are many stories of things done to a conquered people and some maybe justified in the conquerors mind however some of this stuff is beyond our modern day comprehension. 

Can you imagine some despot separating 7000 children all less than 7 years of age and having them all trampled to death with horses; then kill the parents as an added touch of vindictiveness ? From what I have read even Genghis had more of a humanitarian streak in himself (unless you pissed him off) than Timur...

Let us hope some religious war or ethnic cleansing warfare is never visited upon our so call civilized society as things can get serious rather quickly.
