The other night I watched this extremely intriguing and well-researched documentary. Emily threads together a lot of ideas in a way I haven't thought about before. Watched it while lying in bed and she kept me up the full 2.5 hrs. She is my current most interesting documentarian British woman of weird & wild entangled conspiracy stories.

Quote:On June 1st, 1977, Anglia TV aired a hoax documentary about human colonies on Mars. Little did they know that it would become one of the main influences in a bizarre conspiracy cult -- this is the story of how it happened.

Welcome to the often disjointed and decade-spanning story of Alternative 3 — the hoax documentary and subsequent book that influenced so many people in UFOlogy, parapolitics and the strange world of exopolitics and the secret space program. From Mae Brussell to Bill Cooper, The Montauk Project, all the way up to supposed supersoldiers like Randy Cramer and Corey Goode, and millionaire new age channeler David Wilcock. This documentary explores the origins of the story, and how it blended itself with real-life accounts of mind control and psychic phenomena, elaborate fictional stories and government disinformation, ultimately creating an entirely new belief system.

Thankfully Animal Planets documentary on Mermaids didn't do the same.
