There can be only one - Highlander at 40 gets shiny re-release - gortex - 04-06-2026 40 years ! , I'm surprised it's not in black & white ! Probably the best soundtrack in film history and best performance by Clancy Brown as the Kurgan. Sadly they really don't make them like that anymore. RE: There can be only one - Highlander at 40 gets shiny re-release - SomeJackleg - 04-06-2026 i liked all four movies, the made for tv movie, and the first tv series, the second tv series the one with the chick that made several appearances on the first series kinda sucked. in fact when up late playing video games, i have my tv on in the background on H & I Hero's and Icons cable network watching Highlander the series. they run a couple of episodes every night. RE: There can be only one - Highlander at 40 gets shiny re-release - Ninurta - 04-06-2026 Thank God it's a re-master of the original movie instead of a re-make! I despise modern re-makes. They always fail to stay true to the original, and invariably introduce some modern DIE bullshit that veers the movie way off course and makes it un-watchable. I loved those movies - well, except for the second one. even after the edit that took out all the alien crap, it was still pretty meh. I liked the series as well, even "The Raven", but that may have been mostly because of Elizabeth Ward Gracen. The movies are why I went and bought a Highlander katana to add to my sword collection... and as it turns out, that particular katana has better balance than any other sword I own, including the other katanas. . RE: There can be only one - Highlander at 40 gets shiny re-release - YesItsMe - 04-06-2026 Adrian Paul Hewett played Duncan MacLoud in the TV series. He's the only Englishman I've ever seen that I thought was good looking. That goes for TV, Movies and in real life. I dare say if he was American he could have been an American cowboy. (which is a compliment, in case you foreigners didn't know). RE: There can be only one - Highlander at 40 gets shiny re-release - EndtheMadnessNow - 04-06-2026 Wow! One of the rare 4K UHD I'll purchase. Scottish Proverb said: "Twelve highlanders and a bagpipe make a rebellion." Art Bell used to make reference to a phenomena he called "the quickening" (tribute to the movie "Highlander"), a phenomena that would send all of humanity across the threshold of a complete paradigm shift. I think we're there. In 1997 he published a book titled The Quickening: Today's Trends, Tomorrow's World |
