The Royal Mint has started a new series called Legendary Creatures, with the Loch Ness Monster as the first release. It’s a 2026 UK £2 coin in one ounce of .999 silver, with a stated mintage of 50,000. The reverse shows Nessie rising from the water, and the obverse carries the portrait of King Charles III. Current prices are around £94.80 for a single coin, slightly lower in larger orders, and about $115 from some US sellers. That puts it well above standard bullion pricing. The modern surge in Nessie interest is usually linked to the 1934 surgeon’s photograph, and the Mint previously featured the creature on a 2018 10p coin. Early sales show they are going fast...
