America prepares for a manned Return to the Moon - Artemis II / Orion Roll Out - gortex - 01-17-2026 It's been a long time coming but NASA's much delayed return to the Moon is Green to go , 4 Astronauts , 3 American one Canadian , will make a round trip to the big cheese ball early next month , weather permitting , to test out the Orion spacecraft's flight systems ready for a future landing. Artemis II topped with the Orion spacecraft begins its 8 - 12 hour roll out to the pad in 30 minutes in preparation for Astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover and Christina Koch and Jeremy Hansen of the Canadian Space Agency to make their 10 day round trip which will make them the first crew to visit the moon in 50 years. Good luck chaps. RE: America prepares for a manned Return to the Moon - Artemis II / Orion Roll Out - F2d5thCav - 01-17-2026 I wonder what's up with that "medical emergency" forcing the entire crew of the space station to have to return months early from their mission.
RE: America prepares for a manned Return to the Moon - Artemis II / Orion Roll Out - gortex - 01-17-2026 It's likely we will never know the full reason for the medical emergency all we've been told is it's a serious but stable medical issue but given the ISS has had crews aboard for the last 25 years it was always going to happen at some point , with only 4 years left until the ISS is decommissioned I guess now's as good a time as any to test the evacuation procedure but it does beg the question what would we do in event of such a thing happening en route to the Moon or Mars. |
