While the article may be satire, I have been seeing some reactions to the SNAP issue on Insta, FB, etc... that lead me to believe that this isn't very far from the truth of it. As such, as much as I abhor "Big Money" businesses like Wal-mart, Dollar General, and the like... I did purchase some shares in those companies when this kicked off. I know, I know, I'm going to hell for profiting off of the misery of others...
However, to be completely honest with you, this is the bed they made... So maybe it isn't so much profiting off of their misery, but rather taking advantage of their ignorance. Oh, wait.. Isn't that exactly the "Big Money / Big Politics" mindset that got us into this mess?

My GF detests pork rinds, so it intensifies my desire to eat them even more. I need to buy some head cheese. I'm sure she'd like to see that stuff in the fridge. I'll always have food to eat if I keep stocked up on things she won't touch.

I hear ya! It's why I stock up on canned corned beef, Vienna sausages, potted meat, jalapeno pickled quail eggs, and pickled herring. That crap can sit in the pantry for years untouched if I don't touch it, because no one else will!
