To be fair, Rutte's comment makes perfect sense, when taken in context. The media is pissin' itself over it and "conveniently" leaving out the context. so that they can make much ado about nothing. The context was that Trump had just compared the Israel-Iran dustup to a playground fight between children. Rutte's comment - "sometimes Daddy has to use strong language" makes sense in that context. He was referring to Trump's assumed role over Israel and Iran, as THEIR "daddy" in their playground squabble, not calling Trump HIS OWN "daddy", or that of NATO. ======================================================= NATO nations had best leave Russia and the Ukraine alone to settle their own differences. It's an internal squabble within family, not a playground for outsiders. Biden and the American Left never figured that out, and it looks like the European Left having a hard time coming to grips with that simple truth, too. Personally, I think there is a good chance that these Left-wingers never forgave Russia for turning it's back on Communism, and they've had a hard-on for Russia ever since. An alternative explanation may be that "the west" is utterly lost and feels purposeless without a Cold War to fight, so they are doing whatever they can to re-ignite it... but they can't. There are no more Soviets. The Cold War is gone. We won. Get over it. By interfering in their internal business, NATO nations run the risk of having BOTH of them jump those interfering nations once they've resolved their own little tete-a-tete. Simply screaming "Article 5! Article 5!" will not likely save their asses from what they have coming then. You see, I have a really sneaky suspicion that Trump is pushing NATO countries to see to their own defense spending because he intends to pull out of an anachronistic NATO, and doesn't want to leave the rest of NATO altogether defenseless when he does pull out. Picking a fight with Russia will not end well when you yell "daddy save me!" and Trump says "Nope. I'm going back inside for a beer. You're on your own. Shouldn't have picked a fight you can't win. YOU picked this fight, YOU handle it." NATO came to the end of it's remit when the Soviet Union collapsed. It's sole purpose was as a DEFENSIVE pact against the Soviets, and the Soviets are no more. Simply picking useless and unwinnable fights with Putin will not change that - it will not bring the Soviets back. NATO has no more use in this world, because it has outlived it's purpose. It's reason for being can not be brought back - best to move forward. Those interfering in this latest Russian Civil War are NOT acting defensively as NATO was intended. They are not parties to the conflict, and they have not been attacked, so they are not acting defensively. They are acting OFFENSIVELY, and that brings Karma all it's own when they've poked the bear enough to wake it up, and both it and the cub take after them.. So, what these nations are doing is acting offensively against Russia, hoping to goad Russia into attacking them, and THEN claiming "defense" via Article 5. But that won't work. Just as killing a man in a bar room brawl YOU started, "self defense" cannot be claimed when YOU were the original aggressor in YOUR fight, rather than someone else's. . The media is pissin' itself over it and "conveniently" leaving out the context. so that they can make much ado about nothing. And it's the context here that means so much, hence it's been deliberately omitted from the media narrative. The USA took on the role as the major Western driving-force after the Second World War and since then, those recovering from the conflict have gotten their houses back in order. Of course, when someone else is footing the bill, why make waves...? and so the European quarters went about acquiring a social and business system that focused mainly on forming one overall self-beneficial element. Adhering to the parental trope, the financially-stretched countries of Europe 'grew-up' and became valid on the world-stage, now it's time they paid their own way. The mainstream media originally accused President Trump of supposedly changing the accepted conduct the USA had taken on -standard behaviour from a parent preparing offspring for the big wide world out there. But now the same deceitful handservants of the political classes are attempting to frame President Trump's ultimatum as some sort of decision undertaken by the countries of Europe, themselves! The broken-English comment from Rutte has some merit because it shows once again, how the wealthier countries that make up NATO have become weak-minded as well has weak-willed. ![]() RE: King Charles Exposes British Hand in Desperate Effort to Stop Trump - FCD - 06-26-2025 I agree about the dems fighting ghosts of a past era. Take one look at the military and how flat footed they were following 2001 in Asskrackistan and Iraq. We had tens of thousands of Russian translators, and thousands more in the pipeline. All of our stuff was staged in Europe, endlessly waiting for an enemy who would never come. Yet in Asscrackistan and Iraq we didn't have a single translator and we wound up hiring the enemy, half of whom were traitors and the other half who weren't, Biden abandoned. We didn't understand the culture...because no one ever tried. All of this despite the fact that the Islamic extremists and Iranian terrorists had been threatening "Death to America" for 30 years, far more than any Russians ever did. And what did we do about it? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Every single piece of iron had to be brought over on ships and aircraft. We were totally unprepared for a conflict in the region, starting with Kuwait (in the 90's). The handwriting was on the wall in giant neon block lettering, but we ignored it. Then a half a dozen guys with box cutters brought America to its knees. Only THEN was it time to get serious and DO something about it. But..but...wait! That was Bush 2, wasn't it? Yes, but who was before him? And, who was after him? It's called "continuity", and we didn't have it. Besides, the dems controlled far more Defense spending than the republicans did, even during Bush. And not even Bush 1, or even Reagan (my favorite) get a pass. Everybody was staring at Russia, and Russia never posted. Regarding Europe, including the UK, as much as I hate to say it; their glory faded when the great sea battles were no longer relevant in World politics (about halfway through WW2). After that they just stayed on the sidelines stirring shit up so they could look relevant. Trump warned NATO during his first term; he told them to pay up,, or shut up. They did neither. And Biden didn't do a goddamned thing about it. Now Trump is back, and he's finishing what he started. NATO has been operating like Ukraine was accepted into NATO. It explains all their actions. Ukraine isn't NATO, and NATO needs to go sit down. So I agree with you completely. Trump's posturing on Greenland ought to send a pretty damn clear message to NATO. "Wake up! You might be on your own soon, Europe and the EU, along with all your liberal BS. We'll keep our eyes on our own French 'American' fries, and you keep your eye on yours! Your 'chips' or whatever you call 'em." Times are a changin'. And I think a lot of the good folks in the UK see it too; their leadership is completely out of control. NATO is going to follow wherever the EU goes like a lost puppy dog. People of the World need to understand, the US can't continue to bankroll the rest of the world. We've done that for far too long, and it's time we focused on fixing our own problems. And that's gonna' really sting for a lot of countries (and hope you're paying attention here, Israel! Cuz that means you too! You may not be part of the EU, but the gravy train ends now.) ---------------------------------------------- And for the sake of 'continuity', I've harped on how our military is big, heavy and expensive. Everything we do is like that. Yet another example of preparing for a war which would never come...with the Russians. And we STILL haven't learned out lesson! When we got to Iraq and Asskrackistan, Asskrackistan in particular, we found an enemy who was asymmetrical, high-speed and low-drag. They fought with antiquated weapons and homemade bombs. Even though we showed up with hundreds of millions of tons of equipment, we discovered not once, not twice, but three or more times that much of it we had to take back and up-armor because we were getting our asses kicked by homemade roadside bombs and a handful of jihadi's with rifles made in the 60's. There weren't 10,000 of them at a time in a full frontal assault, which is what we were tooled up for. They came at us 5-10 at a time, from all different directions. Gun & Run. And don't get me wrong, I am in no way slagging on our brave warriors. They're the best in the World, hands down. They were ordered to go with what they had. And it was great gear...for fighting the Russians. But the Taliban weren't the Russians. They were small, and light, and they moved fast. We were slow, and heavy. And then there were all the rules, all the bullshit bureaucracy and BS rules of engagement. Everyone needed permission from Dad to fire a single shot. The Taliban didn't need permission from anyone. They didn't care about collateral damage. They used the civilians, the ones we couldn't shoot, as human shields. They took refuge in holy places...which we couldn't blow up. They took refuge in civilian homes, and terrorized the local population. Make a day's progress over here, and the Taliban would fill in the gaps over there. It was endless. And, it was futile. We couldn't win simply because we didn't give ourselves 'permission' to win. We stood in our own way. And what little we did gain, we handed over to the enemy free of charge when we left. Shameful beyond comprehension! (the withdrawal from Asscrackistan really makes me want to vomit; it really does.) But what are we building today? Bigger ships, more expensive planes, drones the size of a school bus. All stuff to fight an enemy who will never come...Russia. All that to kill less than a half a dozen guys with box cutters, and some guy who was their leader giving orders from a smelly ass cave in a mound of garbage. RE: King Charles Exposes British Hand in Desperate Effort to Stop Trump - F2d5thCav - 06-26-2025 Personally, I found Charles' running to Canada to reassure them about ... something something Trump ... a dumb stunt. Canada is a country whose leadership always looks for a sponsor. First it was Great Britain, and then the USA. Now, somewhere between China (talk about STUPID), the UK, and the USA. Charles would do far better to consider the dysfunction in his own kingdom and try to constructively engage with that challenge. ![]() RE: King Charles Exposes British Hand in Desperate Effort to Stop Trump - Kenzo1 - 06-26-2025 (Yesterday, 04:35 AM)EndtheMadnessNow Wrote: In this episode, Susan Kokinda uncovers the hidden forces behind perpetual global conflicts, highlighting Britain's role in sustaining wars and destabilization. The Larouche Network These kind of manipulative talking heads in all social media platforms are cancer to society IMO . RE: King Charles Exposes British Hand in Desperate Effort to Stop Trump - FCD - 06-26-2025 Social media in general, across the board, the World over, is a cancer on society! No need to limit it just to British politics. RE: King Charles Exposes British Hand in Desperate Effort to Stop Trump - FCD - 06-27-2025 When 255 characters or less is the measure of the common man's IQ and level of understanding (not to mention societal equilibrium) we live in very sad times indeed. "Where do you get your news??" "I used to read FOX, then CNN changed my mind. Then I relied on 'X' but it was too complicated, After all that, I decided Fail -Book and Meta provided everything I needed to know in language I understood better, so that's where I go first. And, I rarely stray from there, because it's REAL...unlike everything else! FUCK Trump!!" I'd rather die than see him succeed! Don't care if he's right or not.
