Divided and Conquered - Michigan Swamp Buck - 04-08-2025
Divide and conquer, a technique used to weaken the enemy is often applied to left/right politics. I hear the claims that the deep-state players are using this to control the masses by keeping them at each other's throats and distracted from the people behind the curtain pulling the strings.
I believe whoever is using this technique has succeeded. There is no middle ground now, there is no opinion, no matter how logical, fact-based, or unbiased, that will not be placed on one side or the other. Families are being torn apart by this political polarity and it sure seems to be serving a purpose. My girlfriend experienced this personally at a recent funeral in her family.
I have an example of my own to illustrate my point. The incident with the black kid in Kentucky (correction, Texas) at the track meet who stabbed a white kid who told him to leave his seat. When that report hit the media, the facts were scant and people automatically made assumptions, you know the kind. Young black male stabs a white guy to death, so it is a problem black people have with violence. The other side of that is young southern white boys threatening an "uppity black" to leave his seat who then defends himself.
If you are a liberal who would wonder out loud if the black kid was a murdering criminal, your liberal friends would call you a red-neck Trump MAGA Nazi. Conversely, if you were a conservative white guy who wondered if this was some racist southern white boys threatening a black guy who had the right of self defense, then you are automatically a closet liberal or some kind of political double agent. In some circles, you'd be called a fag or a Jew as well.
Now, I'm hearing that this black kid had it out for the white kid he stabbed to death, if so, then it was premeditated murder. Then, as predicted, this kid is the new liberal martyr who needs a go fund me for his defense and is racking up the defense funds as we speak. Meanwhile, the media is trying to imply the white kids were racist militant MAGA types because of a picture of them out hunting in camo clothes.
Unless I am making my observations public in the appropriate echo chamber, I will be doomed to be labeled one way or the other. You cannot be moderate anymore, you can't look at both sides and voice your independent thoughts and ideas without being placed in one camp or the other. We have already been divided and conquered when moderate objectivity is no longer allowed.
If I were to point out the extreme propaganda and rhetoric of both sides, I'd still get pigeon holed into one side or the other. I find that I must self-censor in public now, I discovered this at a local restaurant recently, not that I disagreed with the talk I heard. I have to keep it to myself for the most part, and that is the goal here, to stifle our free speech and keep us divided and unorganized.

Assumptions can be wild. I once made the mistake of wearing a long black leather coat on the streets of Frankfurt, Germany.
WOW. Did I get some ugly stares from the local self-appointed defenders of the approved narrative ... automatically pegged me as a German nationalist (and I suspect, the real German nationalists don't advertise themselves like that when out and about on daily activities.)
So, some murderous tools sported black leather for twelve years in the 20th century, and black leather was still taboo in that society in the 1990s ... okay.
And I recall the German youth of those days were all about being "against Nazis" ... while not having a single word to say about German extremism that had taken place much more recently ... that of the leftist terrorist groups that kidnapped, murdered, and set off bombs in what was once called "West Germany".

Yeah, judging on appearances is very similar to what I'm talking about. As a matter of fact, I was on Gab recently and there was a post about a liberal politician and a couple of the replies were basically that his glasses looked gay so he probably was too. No discussion about the actual topic, he looked like a gay liberal so just ignore that gay talk as nonsense.
Do these posters believe that or are they just trolls? I think they actually do believe that because Gab is a "free speech" conservative social media forum full of white-power skinheads and neo-Nazis. So if you look like a liberal in a conservative arena like Gab, you get shut out of the conversation. The opposite is true I'm sure.

Imagine how the murdered kid's family must be feeling now. With all these 'go-funds' for the murderer. And the support from BLM towards their kids murderer.
Someone needs to be held accountable for this level of defamation of a murdered kid who can no longer defend himself against all accusations and assumptions.

I don't know the circumstances. But if I was told to vacate a seat I would not resort to stabbing the other person. I'd keep sitting. Let the dice roll after that.
I don't carry knife or other forms of protection. I can only rely on a throat punch at my age. Then again I guess if that didn't work I would have to suffer the consequences.
I consider stabbing another as an act of cowardice and the perpetrator would be no more useful than a blow up dart board when without their blade, sitting down or not. My thoughts.

I agree, but where should the blame be laid to make anything or anyone accountable? The media articles, social media, or just plain old public opinion?
Besides, this thread isn't about this incident but the pervasive "Us vs Them" mentality that divides everyone, a done deal IMO. You know what I'm saying, if you don't "bend the knee" then you are considered a racist-conservative Nazi, and if you do, then you are a socialist-liberal commie.
The problem in my eyes is that no matter what I say in the public arena, it is scrutinized and run through a formula based on judgemental assumptions to equal "Us or Them" regardless of the content of my statements. If I don't tow the line and echo the mantras, conservative or liberal, I'll get run through the meat grinder and turned into Dunderbeck's finest sausages. That is if I am not out right censored to begin with, even in the most "free speech" platform I can find.
It often gets so bad that I swear that people can't even read what I posted. They don't even twist words, all they see is what they anticipated you would write so they could shut you down with rhetoric. Pointing that out makes it worse every time and is useless.
