3 killed in shooting outside Louisville DMV; suspects at large - GeauxHomeLittleD - 02-21-2025

So this happened today just about 2 miles or so from where we live. In fact I just got home from the pharmacy I use just a couple of blocks from where this happened.

Quote:Police said when they arrived, they found three people down outside of the DMV.

A male died at the scene and two females died after being taken to the hospital. Their ages were not available.
Police are still looking for suspects. Maj. Donald Boeckman said witnesses saw "subjects" flee from the scene in a vehicle.
He said witnesses are being cooperative.

Now here is why I posted this in our chit chat forum...
How many of us have gotten a case of the ass when waiting in a long line to re-new our driver license? As pissed off as I have been I never once thought of shooting up people in line. I believe we will be seeing this sort of thing happen more and more because frankly people are really starting to snap. The last 4-5 years have put such a strain on everyone and inflation is putting some over the top and they are starting to break. It is taking less and less stress for people to lose their temper and abandon logic after the pressure build up beginning with covid to currently wondering if they can keep a roof over their families heads and keep food on the table.

So tell me Rogues- Will we see more and more people losing their shit?

Your news link gave me a "Page not found."

This link worked. Very few details so not sure what to make of this story.

DMV offices can be dangerous to your health!
Been noticing random acts of unhinged violence the past few years at grocery stores, big box stores, gas stations, etc. Kinda sounds like it may of been a hit job as one witness saw "two people in masks" and one or both shoot a guy lying on the ground.

Thanks ETMN! Looks like they removed the story on WAVE 3. Also it does look like a hit.

But also the random acts of violence seem to be ramping up not just in US cities but around the world.

This particular DMV has had to call for the police several times since it opened. Just last week after waiting in line for hours (and people having to wait in that line even with scheduled appointments) they came out and told people they were closed and everyone would have to re-schedule due to some software thing and police ended up having to be called.

Right before Christmas while in line at the nearest post office to mail a package one of the workers in back started screaming, cussing and threatening. My first instinct was to look around to see what I could duck behind for cover. When I looked at others in line they were doing the same.

Last year as I was checking out at a store a woman in the next line started yelling so the cashier and I both turned to look and the woman zeros in on me and starts screaming that I was the Devil among other crazy things. I wasn't having it but no firearms had to be drawn, fortunately.

Now we seldom go out but those are just a couple of incidents I have witnessed personally which makes me wonder how frequently those kinds of things are happening with those who are out and about on a daily basis. We see on the news when firearms are used ( like in road rage incidents or when a dust up changes gear mid-fight) but they generally don't report on rage induced physical attacks on people or property except on social media or through the grapevine.

I follow a page that posts mugshots and charges of people arrested in our metro. Overwhelmingly (like 2 out of 3 arrests) people are being charged with strangulation. This is highly unusual as strangulation is generally rage induced and usually happens only in very close relationships (i.e. it's personal). As expected many are domestic violence but surprisingly a lot are not- though it's all pretty scary. It has become so common that it has become a regular subject of joking on local group pages.

Yeah, nerves are getting tight.

Last fall, an old friend of mine, a guy I knew growing up, shot and killed a guy in a Walmart parking lot. Guy cut him off, he and Dennis has some words, then Dennis went back to his car, got his gun, and plugged the dude. Then he called the cops and went to a nearby Mexican restaurant to get something to eat while he waited on the cops to arrive.

He was found guilty of murder in January, But I don't think he's been sentenced yet. His mistake was in going back to his car and getting his gun. That made it "premeditated" as he had time to think about it, so I'd imagine he'll end his days in prison. If he hadn't gone back for his gun, a competent lawyer could have gotten the charges reduced to manslaughter. By going back to his car for his gun, he showed that he had opportunity to just leave after the guy started a fight with him, which would have de-escalated the situation. By going baxck with his gun to shoot the guy, that demonstrated "intent", which is what made it murder.

But yes, folks are getting touchy, and the fun just keeps coming. COVID, the economy, etc, was the start of it I think, but currently we have the California wildfires, hurricane destruction and flooding in the east, and that's not soothing any nerves, either.

It's why I rarely venture into civilization, and when I do, I always go armed... just in case the other guy is, too. If anyone gets hurt, I don't plan on being the last one. I'm an old man, and not as up to the rough and tumble as I once was, but I can still manage a 3 pound trigger pull if it gets hairy.

But for me, the best solution is to just stay the hell away from people, cause people is crazy. If I don't get out amongst them, folks have less chance to start any shit I might have a need to resolve, so I just stay put.

Agreed! We don't go out unless we absolutely have to. Going out just for fun is a thing of the past with rare exceptions. It's just too nutty out there!

With you all on this.  Quite happy at home with the animals while true love is at work.  Avoid social events and stay out of the community as there is always some nutter/s that starts something or has something to say and admit that I am behind the times and my brain just doesn't comprehend some some of of crap you see especially in the big smoke.

It's 4am here and today true love is off for jury selection later on at Jacaranda town.  I hope, if she does get selected, she may be with like minded people who know right from wrong and don't accept immoral behaviour and excuses.

Retired and pensioner as I am does bring these thoughts.

I like the company of Yowies too when I'ms home by meself.  Theys don't buther mees.

Kind regards,

Bally)
