I agree. Europe has gone down the toilet and their Leftist will censor anyone who disagrees with them. They will cancel elections and do whatever it takes to keep power it seems.

Yes, Europe is sliding downward. Not what the ordinary people want, but many of them don't grasp it is their clinging to the cradle to grave social payments support that has brought about the continent's many crises.

one of the Euros said 'Democracy doesn't mean you can say anything you want.'
the host suggested that nobody in the left had anything good to say about Democracy until now, when it has become a verbal club with which to pummel Republicans. 'Unelected auditors are bad for Democracy.' 'Defying the courts is bad for our Democracy'.
I hope the great cleanup continues.
I just fear that these court-ordered delays will give the bad guys a chance to delete and shred relevant info. Somebody should have made it clear that anyone that destroys records will be held accountable.
'accountable' is one of the most dreaded words in DC.

sailorsam, one of the things I've often pointed out to colleagues is that democratic systems of elections do NOT equal freedom of speech.
Germany is infamous for its laws addressing slander and libel. The stinkiest part of them is that they are usually used by the elites to punish anyone who dares mention them in less than shining terms.
Most European governments are police states but they don't look it because there aren't bunches of nightstick wielding cops on the streets beating people up. Regardless, the European peoples understand there are many things they can't say in public.

It appears that the German elites an intelligentsia - and journalists, wherever they fall in that spectrum - are furious at Vance's speech... but the everyday German in the street feels like Vance was speaking for them.
