Nightstar from ATS - Gordi - 01-16-2025

Hi Folks,

I received an email during the night, from an old pal over at ATS, who informed me that Nightstar was not expected to see out the night.
Now unfortunately confirmed - Nightstar has passed, following a period of ill health.
Nightstar (Lorraine) was one of the founder members (and longtime hostess) of "The Shed" series of threads on ATS.

My understanding is that she has not been in the best of health for some time now, but I don't have any further details at this time. I have asked my friend to keep us posted, and will update the thread if I hear anything further.
As ATS itself is down just now, I am unable to seek clarification or further details from there.

For those who don't know... "The Shed" is/was a magical place where many friends were made and many tales and adventures were shared. It was an odd mix of collaborative fantasy story-telling, and real-life friendship & chat.
Lorraine was a shining light there, always lending an ear to anyone who needed someone to talk to.
Her kind heart and caring nature will live with me, and many other Shed-dwellers who were touched by her kind soul, for a very long time to come.

I would ask that you, as fellow Rogues and kindred spirits, spare a kind wish, a prayer, or positive thought for my friend Nightstar at this time.

'Raine - you are in my thoughts now and forever. I shall be raising a glass in your honour tonight.
Safe journey if it is indeed your time to pass. I'll see you on the other side (as we often joked about!)

A few of us had been wondering, and heard there were health issues, but that is all we ever heard.  She was so greatly missed at ATS.

So sad to hear that such a bright "star" may shine no longer.

Thanks for passing on the news Gordi , as sad as it is , my thoughts go out to Nightstar , her family , real world friends and those who know were privileged to know her on ATS. 

Genuine and caring and kind are the 3 words that come to mind as I remember her , I missed her presence on ATS and had wondered how she was toward the end of the site , I'm saddened by the answer to those musings.

I’m sad to see this news.

I didn’t know Nightstar like some of you did. I’d read her posts, on ATS, from time to time and no matter what kind of day I was having, her words never failed to make me smile.

My thoughts are with Nightstar, her family and everyone who’s lives she touched.

Folks, I have just received confirmation that Lorraine (Nightstar) did indeed pass away following a period of ill-health.

Thank you all for your kind thoughts, best wishes & prayers.

I am now heading off to pour a rather large drink, to raise a glass to my dear departed friend.

Gordi, I'm sorry to hear of the loss of your friend. I didn't know her well, only in the occasional post.

Every death diminishes us here on this side, but on the other side there is an increase, and a welcome home party.

I remember 2nd'ing a motion to elevate Her Status on TOS to "Writer".
Her talents and insight will be missed.

Very sorry to hear about Nightstar. I occasionally visited her "Shed" thread. She was the warmest & nicest person on that site.

I know she liked mythical dragons and today is in fact, Appreciate A Dragon Day!
