Population Bust - 727Sky - 01-11-2025 One of the better videos on the world population crash...Interesting possible causes RE: Population Bust - Michigan Swamp Buck - 01-14-2025 I don't want to waste data on the video, so sorry if I'm way off right out of the gate. They are discussing a population crash, correct? A drop in numbers that threatens the survival of the human species, yes? A genetic bottleneck that chokes off diversity enough to ensure human extinction, is this the sort of thing they talk about in the video? You have massive deaths due to war and disease, evolutionary dead ends (de-evolution), or evolution into a new species. Humans may seem to be the Crown of Creation, but they are not the "be all, end all" of evolution, far from it IMO. If you believe Darwin, then we went from hairy apes to humans and will then become something else or we will go extinct. Not seeing any Homo erectus or neanderthalensis walking around town these days, however, there may be a few Homo futuris wandering around. Survival of the fittest, cardinal rule of natural selection. Adapt or die. Here is a link to ponder www.scientificamerican.com Quote:In short, humanity's future could take one of several routes, assuming we do not go extinct: RE: Population Bust - F2d5thCav - 01-14-2025 If the drones and AI have their way, it will be "homo furtive-is" Cheers RE: Population Bust - Chiefsmom - 01-16-2025 I do find it interesting, how many young people, just in my circle are not having kids. My youngest is in his 30's and says no way he will bring a child into this world. And several of my friends have at least one child, that says they will not have children either. But my oldest seems to be picking up the slack, whether I want him to or not! Maybe it is a good thing, until we can figure out how to clean up the mess we have made on the planet? IDK. RE: Population Bust - F2d5thCav - 01-16-2025 What I find amusing are so-called "green" countries like Germany that should be cheering on their population decline (less pressure on natural areas, right ?) but instead bring in migrants by the millions because they hope those migrants will join the workforce and pay the social contributions to keep the cradle-to-grave social care system in operation. And the building of new apartment complexes in Europe! Who is supposed to be living in these complexes in the future ? The trend indicates a need for -less- housing, not endless building to line the pockets of developers and corrupt municipal planning officials. Dystopia, we embrace you with open arms even if we don't realize it. Cheers |
