American, Spirit, Delta, United, South West, and more airlines in trouble - 727Sky - 12-29-2024 The fuel cost are a big part of the troubles for the airlines... Drill baby drill !! RE: American, Spirit, Delta, United, South West, and more airlines in trouble - sailorsam - 12-29-2024 I do some work at our local airport.  American is the only carrier.  They run with minimal staff, mostly kids; they don't pay enough to keep long-term adults.  However the flights are pretty full. slow season coming next few months. Trans World Airlines, Pan American, Eastern.
