White Power MAGA and Trump Worship - Michigan Swamp Buck - 11-29-2024

OK, before I go too far here, I don't want anyone to believe I am supporting any point of view in this thread. I am merely sharing a personal observation.

I've been desperate enough to frequent Gab Social and despite blocking the Neo-Nazis and White Power types in an attempt to get only quality input, I still get exposed to some ultra-rightwing propaganda that I find disturbing. I view such posts with great suspicion because this seems to support the left's contention that Trump is an evil dictator akin to Adolf Hitler who is supported by mouth-breathing, knuckle-dragging, white supremacists.

While dodging and ignoring all the antisemitic, white-power, and Neo-Nazi crap so prolific on Gab Social, I can confidently state that some posts and memes portray Donald Trump as a Christ-like savior worthy of a giant monument or cathedral. Based on likes for such posts, it has me wondering a couple of things,

"How many people actually believe Donald Trump has some divine authority?"

And

"Does the "Ultra-MAGA" blind follower characterization of Trump supporters as portrayed by the left have any validity?"

There are specific answers to be sure, but I tend to believe that nothing is entirely black or white and will except percentages, probabilities and personal opinion as an answer.

The U.S. Department of Justice has the following figures for the estimated number of skinheads based on counts at rallies. I found they have English-speaking countries with a meager population of around 5,500 total.

Quote:70,000 youths worldwide, of whom half are hardcore activists (35,000) and the rest supporters.

United States 3,500
United Kingdom 1,500
Canada, at least 500
Total: 5,500 in English-speaking countries

Other "polls" indicate a far larger population right here in the good old U S of A, at least back in 2017.

Quote:22 million Americans support neo-Nazis, new poll indicates

Survey was conducted in the wake of deadly violence which ravaged Charlottesville

Nine per cent of Americans say holding neo-Nazi or white supremacist views is acceptable, according to a new poll.

The Washington Post ABC poll was carried out in the wake of the deadly racially-charged violence which erupted at a white supremacist rally in Charlottesville earlier this month. If extrapolated to the entire US population, nine per cent would equate to 22 million people.

Well, then, that 9 % is a bit over blown in my opinion, but maybe there are a whole lot of skinhead and Neo-Nazi sympathizers in the U.S., more than enough to flood Gab Social I suppose. Not if we go with the government figures though, it has to be much smaller, esp. if only half that number are hardcore activists.

Gab has an estimated 100,000 active users and a total of 5 million (as of 2022). 9 % of 100,000 users equals 9,000 skinheads and Neo-Nazis, well above the Dept of Justice figure of 5,500 members in the major English-speaking countries.

Who do you believe? I think that there may be an army of AI bots inflating things on Gab, just not sure how to go about proving something like that. Something I haven't investigated is Truth Social and how that echo chamber is resounding with the heavenly chorus singing praises to the MAGA messiah.

Well, one has to consider the bots and one also has to consider the provocateurs.  The latter can be both leftist activists stirring the pot or police agents of one kind or another trying to find people of extreme orientation who may be ready to act rather than simply rant on the internet.

I also doubt the government has an accurate handle as to how many of these people are out there, left or right.  They guesstimate, based probably on some stats but also notional ideas.  Likewise with the polls, probably worse on their part.

One thing I'm sure of is they are more organized than they were pre-internet.  Now they all know where each other is and can easily communicate with one another.

Cheers--

In my mind, I connect this to the "Dead Internet Theory"

Quote:Dead Internet theory
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The dead Internet theory is an online conspiracy theory that asserts that, due to a coordinated and intentional effort, the Internet now consists mainly of bot activity and automatically generated content manipulated by algorithmic curation to control the population and minimize organic human activity.[1][2][3][4][5] Proponents of the theory believe these social bots were created intentionally to help manipulate algorithms and boost search results in order to manipulate consumers.[6][7] Some proponents of the theory accuse government agencies of using bots to manipulate public perception.[2][6] The date given for this "death" is generally around 2016 or 2017.[2][8][9] The dead Internet theory has gained traction because many of the observed phenomena are quantifiable, such as increased bot traffic, but the literature on the subject does not support the full theory.[2][4][10]

ETA: I find it interesting that this 9% opinion poll was conducted in 2017 when the internet died.

RE: White Power MAGA and Trump Worship - Michigan Swamp Buck - 11-30-2024

Another quick search on the MAGA movement. According to politifact, Maga Republicans comprise around half of the party. Another source was about "Trumpism" which I imagine is referring to the hardcore element of the Maga Republicans.

I won't bother with links, a search on the terms will bring up what I found.

This Trumpism concept supports the democracy destroying racist/fascist/Neo-Nazi image fostered by the left. Trumpism and ultra-MAGA are terms I associate with leftist propaganda as they more-or-less describe the image of Trump supporters as evil religious zealots. This leads me to suspect these MAGA messiah threads and posts I see on conservative social media like Gab and Parler are actually AI-generated by the left to support their contention that Trump supporters are extreme fundamentalists. It gives them inflated numbers to push the fear factor up a few notches while they insult and belittle the conservative right, a two-for-one.

Also, because Gab did OK while the left shut down Parler for supporting Trump on Jan 6th, it makes me suspect Gab is a honey trap for the conservative right. If true, there is no doubt that AI propaganda programs are involved.

What you mention is very possible.  We're living a digital era version of the Bolshevik witch hunts for "counter revolutionaries" in the 1920s and 1930s.

We know Trump has a huge ego, super huge really, however, this is one I didn't know about, but it fits what I've been talking about, even AI being involved. He shared it on Truth Social, but I didn't see where he had anything to do with its production.

Quote:Donald Trump is known for posting some pretty unhinged stuff on his Truth Social platform from time to time, but his latest video post is taking things to new levels including a bizarre subtle dig at Melania.
The former president shared a fan-made clip that paints him as a messiah figure, with the video having been circulated far and wide by his supporters.
"And on June 14, 1946, God looked down on his planned paradise and said, 'I need a caretaker.' So God gave us Trump," the voiceover states.
The video then talks about Trump being created to “fight the Marxists”.

The voiceover then states that he was put on the Earth to "call out the fake news for their tongues as sharp as a serpent's”.
In another bizarre moment, the clip describes him as having "arms strong enough to rustle the Deep State and yet gentle enough to deliver his own grandchild".

Here is a bit from Snopes . . .

Quote:Trump Shared a 'God Made Trump' Video with AI-Generated Narration by Paul Harvey?

"And on June 14, 1946, God looked down on his planned paradise, and said, 'I need a caretaker.' So God gave us Trump," the video's narrator said.

. . . In answer to that question, yes, a "So God made Trump" video truly was shared on Trump's official Truth Social account. It was also true that the video featured an AI version of Harvey's voice and that it was discussed on TV on CNN, as the first reader mentioned.
Trump's Truth Social post was made on the morning of Jan. 5, 2024, just before the three-year anniversary of Jan. 6, 2021 – the day when the former president's own supporters rioted at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. and attempted to block the certification of the 2020 presidential election results.
Trump's post also appeared on @TrumpDailyPosts – an account on X that shares his Truth Social posts across platforms.

Here is some info on the people who made this video. Maybe there is some connection, I can't say unless I could follow the money somehow. With Trump endorsing this video, I'd say he's A) involved, B) likes the lampooning, or C) is not too bright.

I recall in his last term there was a mix of profoundly realistic policy and stuff like this video.  I felt like the latter was designed to keep the Left spinning and ranting.

Of course, we have four years to see.  This kind of thing is best judged by ...

"Deeds, not words."

Actions speak louder, and all that.

RE: White Power MAGA and Trump Worship - Michigan Swamp Buck - 12-01-2024

I forgot to mention in my last post that the Biden administration and the Harris campaign both have Truth Social accounts. Apparently, they joked about that, but I wonder what else they did with those and other Truth Social accounts they may utilize for their agendas?

I can't find that out unless I join Truth Social and see what they are doing (if it hasn't been scrubbed already). I will probably dance around that a bit and find what others may know because I don't want to join.

ETA: I just posted "And on June 14, 1946, God looked down on his planned paradise, and said, 'I need a caretaker.' So God gave us Trump" and a link to the video on Gab to see what response I get. I must post this on Parler as well.

Also, I just checked on the "US Message Board" to see if I had any notices and here is a thread posted this morning.

Quote:Comprehensive Analysis of Trumpism Impacts and Consequences

“The divisive tactics and dehumanization strategies employed by Trumpism have far-reaching consequences for American society and democracy:

Truly propaganda as some of the replies demonstrate.

RE: White Power MAGA and Trump Worship - Michigan Swamp Buck - 12-03-2024

Three days since I posted that video on Gab and Parler and not a single reply or comment. I bet it would get reported and censored on Facebook, but maybe if it didn't get the ax on FB, then that might mean they approve of it.

I'm not sure I want to raise a red flag on FB with anything like this. I don't want to get scrutinized even though I only log in twice a month for a couple of minutes each time. I know I'm being studied no matter where I go online, but FB is just asking for it IMO.
