Microsoft is revisiting the monopoly merry-go-round once again. Where before, it was the browser wars to eliminate Netscape, now it is shaping up into the Operating System Wars to push Linux out of the market.
New computers being manufactured are required by Microsoft to force the TPM chip to be "on", and locked out so that it can't be turned off. Concurrently, the key for Linux is being disallowed from being contained in the TPM, with the result that Linux cannot be booted on those computers, locking in the Microsoft monopoly on operating systems.
Concurrently, they are doing things under the table like buying out Skype, forcing Cortana to be installed in it, and not allowing Cortana to be removed or even turned off. The result of that is that if you are running Skype, Microsoft is ALWAYS listening. Also, since M$ bought out Skype, they created a version for Linux, but are not upkeeping it, so that any Linux version of Skype is outdated right out of the box.
The objective of all of these monopolistic moves and more is to force Linux off the market altogether, and require that everyone use Windows 10+, which are ALL spyware disguised as an operating system. THEY want complete control over the computer YOU paid for, so that they can spy on your every move.
